what is the best driver? ASIO, WDM, or MME?

I use a firepod and i actually found it works better using the "asio4all" driver, which you can find on google. Gave me smooth playback and no stops, plus it has some good latency options on it. Just a thought Mike-

    Neumann TLM 103

Yea i agree with Ridickolas. Ive been using the 103 for a few years now. Amazing on certain vocalists but others it's just eh . I got mine awhile back on ebay for 600 so im not complaining.

it is important to be prepared

Not knowing every song in complete detail. Can't tell you how many times the 2nd guitar player in the band or bassist goes "o I didn't know you played that" orrr not playing the same strumming patterns...uugh

    bands wanting too much...

If bands were to pull that with me i'd charge for set up time with no sad look on my face. Lateness...they plan to come in at 4pm my timer starts at 4pm...if they are late...sry. I've done an hour rate for about 4 years and never had any problems....can't say the same with people trying to screw...

Billy The Kill - Spit It Back

Great mix man! I actually like the screaming haha but thats just me. Anyway personally i would like to hear just a tab more high end on the snare to make it pop a little more. Other than that...sounds great Mike

    custom mic cases?

On ebay they have some cases you can buy with foam inside that you take out so it custom fits your mic. I have around 10 mics in mine and they fit fairly snug. Also really helpful if you need to travel somewhere with them.

Who went to school for recording? Who hometaught themselves?

Just to add a question in. Seems like no one has given any info about Berklee's program. If anyone had any insight i'd love to hear it since thats my 1st school of choice. Mike

    Edirol FA-66 issues

Ops sry for not being more clear on that. For those extra 2 tracks i used a "real" mixer. Nothing fancy just an Yamaha mg12. On the back it has a rca "recording out" for left and right. Just connected that to the FA-66 and panned it on the "real" mixer and had 2 extra tracks.

    Edirol FA-66 issues

Ahh the good old Edirol FA-66, a great unit. Anyway when i used to record with mine i could get 4 seperate tracks recorded at once. What i did was, use the 2 on the front obviously. With the 2 rca's in the back i could take the record out on my mixer and plug them into that. To get 2 tracks out...

    Adobe Audition export mp3's

Hey guys, I've had this problem for the longest time. When i try and export a song in "mp3" format not the "mp3pro" type i cannot open it up in Windows media player. For some reason it says the codec used to compress the file is unknown to Windows media player. Any help would be great. Thanks, Mike
