Terrible Sound Quality w/ CAD GXL2200

It's you again! (Thanks so much for constantly helping me :) I'm very close to the mic, that shouldn't be a problem. Where I live is very dry, it's almost like a desert. Unless the AC is giving out moisture, but I doubt it. I seemed to have the same problem with the mixer, so I decided to...

Terrible Sound Quality w/ CAD GXL2200

Hi Everyone! I bought a CAD GXL2200 and for some reason, it has a terrible sound quality. It's nothing like the other videos you see on YouTube. There's a constant background noise, and my voice just isn't any good. Do you have any idea what this could be? Should I return it? Or is it the...

Ok so the clip indicator shouldn't light up. (I'm talking on the mixer) I'll check the sound with headphones.

Thanks a lot! I was using the wrong output, but that still doesn't clear why I'm barely picking up sound, and how my clip indicators don't light up much

I did what you recommended, and on the first channel the clip indicator does not light up, however, on the second channel, if I clap my hands the green light up and if I scream it goes all the way to yellow. That would mean it's a defective mixer right? I turned all the output knobs to max.

Okay. My microphone is CAD GXL2200 and I am using XLR to XLR from the mixer to the microphone. I have engaged phantom power. I don't see activity on the mic's meters... From the mixer, a stereo cable turns into a 3.5mm, which I plug in to my gopro. I use this cable which plugs into my GoPro...

Hi everyone, I'm not mixing anything, but I still use my mixer to record with, as it provides phantom power to my microphone. I'm a total newb at mixing, (see link of mixer above) and I need help. For some reason, I can barely hear the voice of the microphone input. I did put every knob to 0...

    What Mic to buy

Okay. So I'm about to order but I'm reading that I need a lot more than just the mic to get it to work... I want to connect this mic to a 3.5mm headphone input. Here's what I'll need: (Please check to make sure it's right) -Mic -PHANTOM POWER -PHANTOM POWER TO MIC CABLE -PHANTOM POWER TO CAMERA...

    What Mic to buy

Yes, sorry to break it to you but my job does not leave much money to do this, which is what I love. I'm currently looking at the CAD GXL2200 what do you think of it? Its pretty inexpensive and has good reviews. Would it work well on overhead and do you think it would pick up my voice nicely?

Okay, then I shouldn't need a shotgun mic. Sorry I am a newb at this. I'm looking for a microphone, around $150-200. Not a usb microphone... XLR is fine. I will be doing vlogs and have it on an overhead stand. Any ideas?

    Help Choosing Equipment

Okay, well I read shotgun microphones record in one direction, so good for vocals. Please give me some suggestions for microphones I could use -if you do not like the Yeti Pro-. I will use this for vlogging, if that helps you in any way. ps: I thought the Yeti Pro would work because it has a...

    What Mic to buy

Hi Community, I'm going to start vlogging. I'm looking at shotgun mics and an overhead mounts but that's too expensive. Do you have any recommendations for some really nice microphones that will work as overhead? My maximum budget is around $200... I'm currently looking at the Yeti Pro. What...

    Help Choosing Equipment

The Microphone is 1.2 pounds and do you think the stands like the On-Stage boom (Are they long enough for overhead?) will be able to withstand that weight or should I put bean bags or something at the bottom to hold it.

    Help Choosing Equipment

If I do that I would need a shotgun microphone, which are much more expensive that the Yeti Pro If you could link to some very good microphones, XLR possibly cheaper than the Yeti Pro that would be really nice, but remember they have to work as overhead (Which the Yeti Pro does)
