Do you ever have some days when ...

Yep, there are days when I play or sing like I'm drunk or lazy, or just shitty! Alas.. I laugh about it and kill it the next day as if to say, "don't fuck wit me"

Early Mix of a New song

Early Mix of a New song

So why are you so depressed? Nice stuff though. The volume on the vocals, is a tad inconsistent as if you're not staying on the mic. Who are you looking at in that picture you use for your songs? I assume that you are the little kid on the left, and why does that picture mean so much to you...

Trying to get more high end mojo on this...

Agreed, that the dark guitars are the culprit here. If you want more high end, turn up the Treble:D OR cut some of the lows in other places. Cool tune though.

    Hard Rock Song Need Advice

Really cool riff. The snare is NOT "over the top" everybody is listening on various devices in various environments. That riff makes me want to walk around my house all macho like. 'Hey Couch! Fuck You!!" <-- shit like that.

    DIY Microphone kits?

No, but until a few days ago I didn't even know they existed. I plan to look into this much further and hopefully have an answer very soon.

How to achieve audio that sounds like the bottom of a well?

How deep is the well and why is Timmy always falling in there? Lassie's all but given up on 'em.

    Everybody - Recorded on a Korg D8 in 2009

Indeed, the reverb on the vocal was a genre thing but the compression may have emphasized it a little more than I would like now, 8 years later. When I mixed my own voice back then I had a tendency to add a little too much.

    Everybody - Recorded on a Korg D8 in 2009

https://audiomonsterrecords.com/track/452499/everybody?autostart=true Here's to hoping that the copy/paste widget works:guitar: Of course I used some preamp and outboard gear but I kept it basic. The Korg D8 has only two 1/4 inch inputs so I had to get very crafty by running drum mics kick...

    Electric Scar - Rubber Boy

Mic to guitar amp. Mics to real drums. ..unless that is not an option.....................

    Microphone of choice

The 1A is hyped in the high end, the NT1 may be flat but it handles EQ well so you can work it to your liking in various applications.

    Electric Scar - Rubber Boy

Has a bit of a Stones feel to it, love it. Really cool tune and I hope you take some time with it and nail it good. ....Would live drums and guitars be an option, to get some raw life into it? The music just doesn't do the attitude in your voice justice.

    When is a song ready?

A song is ready when you come to the conclusion that you'll have nothing to regret about it when listening to it 20 years later.
