I agree with Mike B in that room treatment is probably the best thing you can do to improve your mixes. Your music will sound better to you in your studio after you treat your room but I know you're resisting doing it and that's fine. I'm pretty sure that if you do treat your room you'll be glad...
My head is spinnin' so just gotta say...
I know you believe you understand what you think I said but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!
Hey Begal, Very nice! Sounded like a backing track with a couple of your guitar tracks maybe without the Dumble. I have followed Robben Ford since the late 70's and I can tell by this that you have taken his work to the woodshed. This could have passed for Ford's playing, not necessarily his...
Thanks foulphil, This song was never intended as anything but an instrumental. I attempted a play on words in the title but I know my sense of humor is lost on most people. Sometimes I think I'm the only one who understands what I'm trying to convey.
Thanks Btyre, I listened to your songs, nice nylon string work. I studied classical guitar many moons ago but I haven't picked up a gut string in years mostly because my oldest son confiscated it. Makes me want another one.
Like old Benson, my head's spinning. I guess I'll take that as a compliment though. Not sure if I'll change the pans or keys but I'll mess with it. Thanks for your feedback.
Yea Dobro I'll take another listen to my guitar pans. Two of the guitars were panned approximately 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock as I remember and the modulated guitar was panned hard right for effect. Hard to know but the modulated guitar might be what you are hearing that throws the balance off...
I'd like anyone's take on this mix. I'm thinking that the snare may be a bit loud and I might have gotten got carried away when I added french horns at the end. Plenty of other things I'm sure.

I agree with others here about the bass missing low frequencies, disappearing in spots. Have you tried using a hi pass on the guitars starting at 30htz then increasing until you find the sweet spot. Guitars are up in the mix and with that much distortion they will hog low mid frequencies. Also...
Nice vocal, got your Jagger on. Your reverb settings sound good to me but there's no accounting for taste. I felt you rushed your guitar parts in a couple spots but I know I do it all the time. Not that it's a big deal but the the one that really struck me was about :22 in when the drums came in...
I recently posted a mix and someone asked how are you monitoring?? It got me to research my signal flow and gain staging, by the way I use plugins, analog effects and a summing mixer. I was concerned that the right speaker seamed quieter than the left. So I used pink noise to check the balance...
