on the topic of pedals/effetcs: i'm rather new to playing and i was wondering, if i purchased a multieffects processor would it be as simple to "hook up" as pedals are? i probably didn't explain that well, sorry. btw, i don't mean the kind that need to be rack mounted

here's how i do it: 1 - convert the mp3 files into wav format using a program called mp3decode. you can find programs similar to this at www.webattack.com or maybe even at www.downloads.com 2 - once the mp3 are converted i stick a black cd-r in and a screen pops up asking me what i want to do...

my budget: ~$1000 but i'm flexable on it. i'm mainly into the metals, hardcore, and industrial so that's what i wish to record. i'll be recording each instrument 1 at a time. it does not need to be portable.
