Yeah if I remember correctly the 58 is exactly the same as the 57 but with a different windscreen
I do agree that you would probably be better off by putting less money into monitors.
I also think you should have a larger variety of mic's, even if it means having less. Buy some cheap Naiant...
The R value has to do with the heat insulation properties (i believe), the higher the number, the greater, and the larger.
I'm not sure if R-19 is enough, but remember to get unfaced
I've got a Delta 66 and i'm looking to add an input to my setup (because who would want 4 when they could have 5/6?)
Around $100 or less, I'm not looking for anything stellar, my setup is pretty low end (berhinger/apex/ect..)
Infact, It doesn't need to have a preamp, just convert to S/PDIF...
I have a cheap rig but I spend a lot of time getting the best results I can out of it, (Delta 66/Berhringer mixer)
$10/hour for recording + mixing
$10/song
But I always round down the hours, if it's a good band and I like the people Ill usualy shave off an hour or two if it's a multi day...
I played smells like teen spirit, in the regular key, which I can not sing in (notes get to high for me to sing without going into a false voice),
I regret that more than anything i've ever done in music.
