Wolf's Skin - Alternative Rock Song

This sounds great. The 2-4 drum pattern sounds loud to me at times; agree with VHatSteve re: bright/salient 'hats.' Vocals sound top notch for the most part but at "sheep skin" there is some possible reduced intensity on sheep. Doesn't appear to be a range issues becuase skin is higher pitch...

don't know which genre you'd call this

Mix sounds bright and clear; the synth melodies at eg 3:00 recall Jan Hammer on the Cobham "Spectrum" LP. Excellent imagery with just a hint of menace.

    Atmospheric piece

I like this a lot. The mix sounds very good and clear to me. I'm going to try this sort of sound, so, inspiring. Could go "as is" on the Hearts of Space playlist. One thought is that the ping-pong left/right pan is a bit fast around 3:20 for example. Could be deliberate, for effect, no...

"Last Time" - are the vocals too loud?

Smooth, mix sounds good, verse vocals sound good. Group vocals in chorus do stick out to me as maybe too diffuse/?reverby, but not too loud. Consider clean/spatially separated harmony there. Also on the chorus might go with a rawer bass sound, but I like the bass sound elsewhere.

Would love feedback on this mix, (Electroswing)

Josh, Aside from the glitchy scratch at the drum fill (eg 0:25 and like spots) mix sounds good to me, very fun tune. I like the deployment of vintage static. The entry of the keyboard/player-piano-like thing at 1:16 sounds tentative at first. Love the shifts down to the vocals and the...

    Kramer

Wow. Kind of a James-Brown-meets-young-Rod-Stewart vocal sound, and I like the fairly straight ahead mix, and the groove. This is so even though the only actual words comprehensible to me were, or was, "yeah." Instead of "more cowbell" here, I would go with "more vocals" and develop some...

I'm The King Of The World

Very listenable, nice composition, good tone and expression on the vocals. On the one hand, while "lying in the sun" has some backing percussive/plucking sounds that connote beach stuff, might make this more frankly steel-drum like, and limit their duration, which precedes the lying in the...

?signal processing to match different vocalist with pre-recorded sound clip?

Hello, I wanted to make Dave, from 2001:Space Odyssey, say, "open the SEED VAULT" door" instead of "open the POD BAY door." Accordingly, (this is indirect but what I have to work with) I recorded from "TV" with handheld unit to give mp3, then got this as .wav into pro tools. Once there...

pro tools, import mp3, quick time

Steenamaroo, thanks for checking on this; I had seen this and looked into it and likely restrictions on my machine made it problematic. In the meantime I was able to get audacity to work for import mp3, export wav, then get to pro tools, so at least that is a work around.

Kickingtone, I agree with what you're saying overall, and I think these would be good things for F. to work on as well. He does have a good tone/sound overall to me with good potential.

pro tools, import mp3, quick time

Hey, thanks for the inputs. Steenamaroo, I am running OS Windows 7. GToboy, I'm thinking same thing, though I"m pretty cautious about downloading things (hence not going for some of the sites that offer quicktime who are not "oem" as they look a bit janky). Cyrano, that is my understanding...

pro tools, import mp3, quick time

Hello, I'm using pro tools 9, and can't import mp3 to a session, though .wav files come in fine. It seems the problem is that I need "quick time," that is apple software. But quicktime seems not to be supported or available anymore for the computer I'm on. Does this sound correct, has...

Get off that phone and drive!

Hey, that's great--love it! Seems like it could work into being a theme for EMTs or LEOs or ER docs who have to deal with the wrecks, large and small. Just saw some dude drive into the ( luckily grassy and flat) median of a major freeway, THEN look up at the #@$in' road. All surprised...

    Here goes...

Frank, the voice sounds good, on pitch and good tone. Definitely more powerful/sure/conversational in the lower portions of the melody, but not squeaky/reachy to me on the higher portions. Not sure how much in this clip is actual falsetto, maybe one or two notes. Also I wonder if you are...
