how much time do you spend on recording vs mixing? as a rough ratio i'm guessing i spend 2hrs mixing for every hr recording.. How does that measure up with you?

i mix using izotope nectar and master using izotope ozone. found a great 80page pdf"how to" on mastering (that i found through these forums) but i have not found a DIY for mixing.:cool:

idk what happened but i am getting some sort of a phaze/double sound when recording! i have a bunch of new plugins and am wondering if thats why? any suggestions?

Does anyone know of a list to descriptive words for sounds? ex: if i boosted the high frequencies too loud i would describe it as "tinny"or "like a cellphone" but i'm sure there is a professional word for it already!

How would you EQ someone who is whispering? i feel that if i boost the frequencies in the slightest manner i end up with a tinny sound...

I am trying to hook my record player up to my Mbox mini (temporarily) but do not know where i can ground the wire in the record player! i saw a guy open up the mbox, is that the only way?
