I had my first real guitar playing related injury back in Feb with my fretting hand. I still haven't quite recovered and suffer frequent bouts of tendinitis in my left wrist and slight weakness in my thumb. Since then, I've had to change to lighter gauge strings and revert back to standard scale...

It sounds like someone playing a $99 Casio keyboard on organ setting with auto-accomp goin in the background. Not my thing.

Can't really add anything that DogmaticVox hasn't already said. The tuning problems being intermittent, I suspect it may be an instrument with a bad setup (intonation problems). Not bad otherwise.

What's with all the weird panning? Was that a conscious decision?

Taste is not art. I like ranch dressing and prefer jeans to slacks. Nothing artistic about that. Besides, people who have their shit down don't hire an engineer so he can make their music sound the way he likes. They hire an engineer because he has the technical prowess to give them the sound...

What's artistic about feeling hardware knobs? I think the problems come from people believing that mastering is as artistic as music creating. While there may be some artistic decisions an ME can make, mastering is more about the technical aspect than art.

Drums are too loud for my taste. I think guitar driven music should be focused on the guitar more. It's all subjective though.

Threw this short piece together pretty quick to see what kind of results I get. Seems I have more gear than material these days so excuse the minuscule length and blandness of the actual composition. I'm more interested in critiques of mix balance and tone and such...

Most often Youtube is a terrible place to get reviews on lesser known stuff. I suppose the cut rate price would attract a good deal of youngsters and beginners. I plan on trying a few more models to see if they're quality control is consistent and such. Hopefully I didn't just get lucky. Good...

I had to find Memphis May Fire on youtube to familiarize myself with their sound. Sounds like typical modern high gain tone. A good deal of that tone comes from shaping before the amp (amp plug in this case). I'll bet the TSE plugin mentioned above is TSE808 which is a decent Tube Screamer emu...
