    Mackie, Soundcraft, or Other

I have to slightly disagree with you here, I have a 24x8 Mackie and I just recently had 20 channels loaded with hot signals spread on 4 busses and not even a hint of headroom loss. :D In fact all the channels sounded clear, legible and maintained their sonic integrity as all 20 channels were...

    Dongle Crack for SX 2

Cubase offers version SE for $100, seriously that isnt expensive at all, and that version is still a powerful one to use. And for the idiots who admit using illegal software isnt too bright I dont mind saying. Keep ALL illicit things you do on the super hush, hush, get it?

    muffled sounding mix

Pure skill can and will get you that clear and upfront sound everybody wants. :D For real you can have the most expensive studio in the whole world and it dont mean jack sh!t if you can use anything in it. And some people can get busy with only basic recording tools and make a track sound...

    Making edited tracks into ONE

Assuming you are using SX. You should look into track bouncing or the audio mixdown feature.

Which software you use to make audio recording

That is pretty much a matter of taste. I never used sonar to say if its worse or not, but I presume they will both give you similar benefits in the end result. :D

Which software you use to make audio recording

I love Cubase. To me I can create a whole song from scratch. And I am somewhat fully with the end results of the stuff I make. There is no reason for me to branch out at this time. Also Cubase has powerful editing/mixing features. I recommend it fully.

    tascam 488mkii portastudio

If they dont have 8 inputs they cant, I only have 2 so I couldn't. lol. You are right though.

Which software you use to make audio recording

LMAO! That whole set-up is on my wishlist.

    tascam 488mkii portastudio

I thought about that, but I wasnt sure if you could technically get away with it. My sound card only has 2 inputs anyway so I never actually never tried it. It seems extremely messy to do (a spaghetti of cables). In light of that page you linked I guess it can be done.

    tascam 488mkii portastudio

^^ Yes but you cant separate them if you were to dump them into another DAW, like Cubase or Sonar. The Tascam doesnt have direct outputs for each track.

Which software you use to make audio recording

Or just save up to $500 and get Cubase SX or Sonar, :D

    Dongle Crack for SX 2

Very wise words I might add.

    DAW vs. "Vintage Analog" recording

To say "choosing the best possible sound" is only an opinion! Yeah, analog gives you a warmer sound but that doesnt mean its the "best possible sound". It depends on the user at hand. I like the warm sound of analog, but I prefer and think that clarity and the pristine sound of digital is...

Best method to record distorted guitar...

TRS = Tip Ring and Sleeve and TS = Tip and Sleeve. I never heard of it being called shield. TRS is a balanced cable and is similar to the XLR mic cable and TS is unbalanced. Secondly you can use the TRS cable for a mono signal. This link here will expalin all the different types of cables and...
