I got my icicle to work!

Yeah for me I got my new toy(icicle) to work. I heard allot of people on various forums saying that the asio drivers wouldn't work w usb mic's. So my conclusion is that these people where stupid or misinformed, I'll let you be the judge. Here are some screen shots for reference.

How to get a usb mic converter to monitor?

The worst part of this whole ordeal(yes I said ordeal, I'm a vocalist). Is fixing the problem right after posting this. I had to adjust the samples down to 79! No where in the reaper manual is this issue directly addressed, the only mention is of block size. It wasn't until I just started...

How to get a usb mic converter to monitor?

I got the blue icicle for x-mas. (yes I know I already posted this on a different thread). Well I'd figure another route. I already know that the icicle is the input and since it has no output, the computer is the default out. Is there a way to monitor using a usb mic or usb mic converter? Also...

    I just cant sing?

In the first recordings I ever did I realized that my voice sounded great on 1 track but not on the other 2. So I went out in search of why I could sing one song well but not the other 2 and it lead me to sing in choir and to take voice lessons. I don't know if your a male or female but for...

complete beginner: what do I need?

I have a similar problem but instead of a usb mic, I have a usb mic adapter. https://homerecording.com/bbs/general-discussions/digital-recording-computers/blue-icicle-latency-w-reaper-351939/ No solution yet but if you get one post it pls!

    Blue icicle latency w/ reaper.

I do have a proper interface that I like very much(tascam us 800). The main reason for this purchase was to be able to do guitar/vox tracks at home and have an easy setup/tear down. Its funny that the box/receipt thing comes up because I'm sitting next to a 2 yr old blue encore100i box. I mean...

    Blue icicle latency w/ reaper.

It was an online christmas gift from amazon and the box was never saved. Now all I want to do is to at least try and make it work. At least now I have first hand knowledge as to why everyone hates on usb mic's.

    Blue icicle latency w/ reaper.

Ok so I got a blue icicle interface for x-mas. it works and all but there is some serious latency issues to overcome first. From what I understand the icicle is an input only and so the sound has to come from the computers internal interface. Is anyone aware of a way to use the icicle and hear...

What's with mono drum room mics?

Your right, because I didn't think of it until this thread and I really don't use them in a conventional manner. Once I upgrade my interface from 6 to 8 channels I'll probably mic the toms seperately, unless I like one technique over the other.

    Reaper (Volume issue)

I like a good usb mic, if I'm overdubing vox. It allows me to keep from hooking up my entire interface.

help i'm geting very big noises when i record vocals through mixer in cubase

I read nothing of a A "y" cord and in your original post. So what is this "y" cord you speak of.

Clicks - me or my mic?

If all you were using in the past was the built in mic then thats cool if it works but your not using any kind of interface, which could be your problem. If any usb mic fixes your problem then your problem is that you had no interface. A usb mic is a mic that you don't need a interface for...

    Blue spark promotion?

This is one of those rumors that you just can't help but spread, and I really hope its true because I need a new mic! I heard it from and independent pro audio shop in Seattle called lunch box audio. The owner who told me didn't know if it was true either he was just telling me as a heads up...
