Neve Tek Raps
A 1272 is a line amp/summing buss amp from the circa 1970-76 era of neve consoles, such as 8048,8014,8016,and bcm10 portable consoles.
A 1272 is not a mic pre, nor was it ever used by neve as such.
However, when asked what he thought about people rewiring the 1272 as a mic pre...
Alot of the reviews I've read start out as "I don't own / have never used this pre.... but I don't like it because...", so I'm taking that into consideration.
I'm guessing it's got to be decent if it's a clone of Neve equipment.
Hey guys -
I can buy a Vintech Dual 72 from a friend - for $750. I currently have no nice preamps, though I have owned a UA 610 in the past.
I record classic rock style music mostly.
Want to have a pair of nice pres for vox, gtr, bass, and drums.
Can anyone tell me if this is good value...
Hey Guys,
Selling a UAD PCIe card, and plug in's that are with it.
We can follow the correct method of transferring ownership with Universal Audio when I ship the card as well.
It has the following plugins:
Roland RE-210 Space Echo
EMT 140 Reverb
UAD LA2A
UAD 1176SE
Nigel
RealVerb Pro
Pultec...

Hey Guys and Girls,
Can you check out my song so far....
www.effortlessrecords.com/demo/danger.mp3
It's not been mixed, and the vocals will be scrapped, but please tell me what you would do - based on what I do have done.
Any specific comments on the bass or drums would be great.
Thanks!
Well - the 2020 can be used on guitar, but I am suggesting you get an SM57 as it's a very universally diverse mic. Engineer's who have thousands of dollars worth of mics still grab up an SM57 most of the time.
I owned the 2020 - and it will serve you well on many sources to get you started...
Hey Elegy,
AT2020 mic is a good choice to start. You might want to google "Reaper" for some really excellent recording software. It will take you an hour or so to really get familliar with Reaper - but will be so worth it.
M-Audio Fast Track Pro is also a nice piece to get started...
