    Mics

He said he that can't play the drums for more than 5 minutes due to pain. He bought the drums in hope of finding a drummer but hasn't been able to. So, at this point, both the mics and the drums are collecting dust. He could use the money (if he wants) to purchase a drum program...or whatever...

    Mics

Sell them. You'll get your money back, maybe even a little more if you get just a little bit lucky. You can use the money to buy something like Addictive Drums, EZDrummer, or better yet, Superior Drummer, depending on needs/desires (budget). Best of luck!

Buying guitars based on their weight...?

BTW, the guitar and neck are Black Limba cut from the same blank, the board is mcassar ebony. The guitar was made by Franklin Cash guitars to my specs - woods, 24.75" scale, Scahller Hannes bridge, TruOil finish. Thanks for the nice comments. :)

    Budget Tele

I'd look for a used MIM Fender that spoke to me.

Buying guitars based on their weight...?

I hate heavy guitars - I want lightweight and resonant and don't think I have to have a heavy guitar to get good sustain.....Wait, make that I am SURE that I don't need a heavy guitar to achieve it. Give me a lightweight guitar any day......like my Mad-O-Caster......about 6 lbs and screams like...

    Bad Vocal Phase..HELP

Are you reasonably sure it is a phase issue? "Flipping the switch" will only reverse the phase by 180 degrees, not shift it in other increments. You might try using a plug-in that will do that for you, such as http://www.voxengo.com/press/138/ . ......OR....... .......have the vocalist...

    AT2020; Studio Projects B1?

The B1 is MUCH better than the AT2020, IMO.

    Oktava Mk-219 vs. Mk-319

What's so lol about that? The 219/319's can be really, really good mics. I have a bunch of higher end mics and bought and sold a lot of others, but my 319s won't ever be sold. No matter what I have (and I think I am set now) they will always have a home. Take Michael Joly's advice, buy a 219...

    The Rode K2

It's a nice mic. You can get it for less than $700, of course, and for the price I'm not sure how much more you can ask for. It depends on what you want from a mic really. The K2 is well rounded but I didn't find it to excel in any particular area. It would be a nice, general purpose mic. It's...

Looking to buy SDC('s) for Acoustic Guitar

My favorite mic for acoustic guitar is not a SD at all, it's a BLUE Baby Bottle. FWIW, I have 2 Oktava MC012, 1 Shure KSM 137 (a sleeper, IMO), and had a pair of AT4041. I like the BB better than any of them. Just a thought in a different direction. :)

    Next Vocal mic?

Don't get a 2200 unless you want more inexpensive sizzle. I don't like that mic at all. Get the Oktava modded first - definitely . The mic has a lovely capsule and with some modding it can be a downright good mic, period. Consider getting the V67 modded second. You will then have two pretty...

Vocal Mic $1000 Budget, what to buy?!?!

Yes, you're describing a BeesNeez James - handmade (including the capsule) in Australia. I have one (along with two other Beesneez mics) and love it. http://www.beesneezmicrophones.com.au/james.htm Note the price listed in in AUD not USD, which would bring the mic price down, although still a...

    A Newmann we can afford...$500

Those mics wholesale from China for under $100. CAD was the first to bring them to market, the Trion (8000, I think). They're being blown at various places for much less than some company ridiculously named Newmann (makes me think of Newman from Seinfeld). They should have named their company...

What kind of MXL V69 did I get?

You got an early version of the mic, before they put in a tube socket. 12a?7 tubes and it's ilk can last for quite awhile. I wouldn't worry about it. If you must, you could or you could have someone put in a tube socket. It's not worth it IMO. Just use the mic and enjoy it. -Mad
