    Vocal Questions

A big part of it is probably the performance. Good vocal technique takes a long time to develop so work on that. I don't know what you are recording into, but if you can write automation or ride a fader when you are mixing then try that. It's a little more time consuming to write automation...

DM 24 question about post fade across master

if you're not useing the studio output, in the monitor section you can assign that to be the control room source, i think. if not, you can use the master out or the control room out, depending on which you are using for monitoring, or if all those are all taken, then you can take the output of...

I'm Really close on picking out my bulk cable, Your opinions

I've found Redco.com to be an awesome dealer. They will match prices too. If you are only doing short runs then I would go with the non-quad cable. You can even save money (if that's an issue) and go with the 2552. It's a lot smaller and it works great. If you are doing a lot of behind...

Where to put the "Aural Excitement"?

I heard a mix where an exciter was used on a vocal and (I don't know what exciter it was, i think it was a plug in) only the "excited" part, just some crisp high end, was sent to reverb. It gave a really nice bright reverb and sounded really good for the tune. Doesn't answer your question at...

    Patiently waiting

The same exact thing happended to me at GC in Boston with the 386, it was one of their blowout sales and I got the demo unit for $150, brought it home, didn't work, went back and he gave me a brand new one in the box. I had it for 2 weeks and sold it for way more.

Old School Audio and API question

I've read all great things about the Old School Audio stuff and I'm really interested. The website says the rack and powersupply are compatable with the API stuff, so does that mean that the old school stuff can work in an api rack and api stuff (the 500 series) can work in an old school rack...

    who knows about ribbon mics?

The Royer 121 is the only ribbon mic I have experience with and everytime I've used it I've loved it. Used mainly for guitar cabs and strings.

    Dm24

I have one and love it. I am actually looking to sell it though because I need cash and I don't need it that much for what I am doing. It's a great machine.

    bulk cable

www.redco.com is great. They are nice guys and their prices are just about the best I've seen for cable. They have their own brand too and it's not too bad if you are on a budget.

DBX 386, RNP, RNC, and some others

Yea all my pics came out like crap. If you look at the middle of the drum in the pic, around where the logo is, that's pretty much the color, not the reddish color you see on the sides. Here's a pic of a different premier drum but the color is pretty much the same. Thanks

    Board/Snake Channel Limitations

I swear I don't read so goood. I thought he had a 32 channel board with only 20 lines to it and needed a way to get more than 20 signals through those lines by sub mixing before the lines. Sorry and thanks.
