    Homemade drum shields?

Yea I will give it a try...because our whole goal was to be able to record all three instruments live rather than overdubbing and whatnot which is what we did in 2005 when we recorded our last CD...so I was figuring that some isolation needed to be achieved if possible but I realize it's not...

    Homemade drum shields?

sounds like a lot more stuff than I had expected... Why do they use those drum shields at all if they don't really do much? Just curious because I don't know much about drum equipment. Thanks for the replies though

    Homemade drum shields?

Do the $400 drum shields sold in stores only decrease highs as well or do they cover more? And I mean I understand that these won't completely isolate the drums by any means but would they not be helpful at reducing leakage? I'm just curious because we hope to be recording everything in a live...

ok, i will move them out then... is there a problem with putting the amps in that area instead so I can put the drums in their spot (i.e. will the amps experience/create issues in the corner)? and also, should I look into those auralex Gramma amp risers to get them off the floor or is putting...

anybody? especially concerned with drum placement and amp placement...and if gobos are placed around the drum set once it's moved away from the wall for a bigger sound, would that completely defeat the purpose since it creates a small wall of its own? thanks

    Basement studio...noise from above...

http://www.auralex.com/c_studio_construction/c_studio_construction.asp You might be able to find out some stuff there about treating the inside of the walls/floors/ceiling before they are finished... Basically what you need is sound isolation, not acoustic treatment (adding a whole lot foam...

Thanks for your advice Hey thanks a lot for your input, i will try some of these things out... The 4 auralex MAX-wall panels in my studio have fairly extended bass absorption... .81 at 125Hz, but i don't have the best monitors (M-Audio BX8 or somethin like that)...any recomendations on some...

Hi, I'm very new to this forum, but I was searching through it and I saw that many people were able to gather good advice from people who appear to know what they're talking about. I've been in this rock band for a few years now and we are looking at recording another album this summer. I've...
