    new frustration

I really enjoyed this heat! I thought it was great! I'm a big fan of the Flaming Lips, Blur, Bowie, and this song checks a few of those boxes. Listening to the last mx, I'm digging it. No complaints from me. Checking out your soundcloud now to see what you've been up to lately.

I usually don't post here, but...

This is really good for a bunch of kids, for sure. Kind of Old School early 90's sound al la School of Fish meets Jim Morrison. I bet these kids are "that band" that all the other kids are excited to see perform at the high school battle of the bands. Remember "that band"?:D Might be me, but it...

    Probe Rush (downtempo)

I'm really liking this! I think it's a little dry, could use a little more reverb. Really like the synth pads. All the little bleeps are cool. Mix balance sounds nice. Love the break down. Did you record an upright bass? Like the fact that I can hear a little fret rattle. You have a knack...

    Just Walked Away

The guitars are the stand-out on this for me. The bass is in the pocket, too. The mix sounds really good to me. Vocal performance is stellar. Drums sound great. This sounds really good...not much else to say.

The end of the world, I-IV-V style

This is a cool pop song...reminds me of that mid-nineties pop vibe. Man I miss the 90's. Really lovin' the all the vocal performances. I might like to hear a version with the lead vocal up front and more present, but then again some of my favorite albums have vocals that are practically buried...

    some camembert with that sir?

Cool sounds. Crystal clear. Nice stereo effects going on. This is actually much more interesting than most of the "club" music I hear on the radio. This mix is super punchy. I think it's mixed really well. Don't have any complaints at all. Nice work! BTW...IT scared the hell out of me when I...

    Navajo Rain

Thanks...idrum for the beats, some wood sticks I have for the live click sounds. Guitars were recorded with a Rode NT3. Abelton intro seems pretty adequate for my needs...no real desire to upgrade. Between that and garageband, I feel pretty covered.

    Navajo Rain

Thanks. Yeah, the sample was ripped off youtube. As far as fidelity goes, I recorded everything at 44 16bit. I also use a pretty inexpensive interface, and I wouldn't say my room is "acoustically treated", but for what I got I'm happy enough with the sounds. The reverbs were the effects that...

Cool! Thanks. Glad you liked it. Looking forward to Machete.

    Navajo Rain

Thanks Heat. This is more or less an experiment with Abelton Live, and not any sort of real "song". Just trying to get familiar with the interface and see what kind of possibilities exist to create song structure. Structure wise, there is more I can do with it. The indian intro is a little...

    videogame score...part 2

Yeah...this sounds great! Very nice work!

    Enid

This is a little stiff...I think that's due mostly to the drums. They don't sound in time all the time. The sound isn't bad though. The bass guitar could stand to be rounded out a little bit. The guitars have some nice separation going on, and they sound whoever was really getting into them...

    Navajo Rain

Well I've finally made it back to post something. I'm using a new program - to me anyway, Abelton Live (intro edition - limited version). Overall I think it's a pretty cool little program. It's a soundscape piece, and I'm using an Alesis micron to make most of the synth sounds. Used iDrum for...

    Going to see what happens...

I just purchased the intro version of Live, and I think it's a great program. I'm loving session view workflow, especially for soundscape/sample work. I'm a pretty big fan of the ambient, synth based stuff, and minimal is fine with me, if it sounds good. I think this sounds really good. I got...

    Dreamland (don't know what genre)

Yeah...the rim shot is too loud. I think the acoustic sounds pretty nice. I agree with the others about the bass. It seems a bit off. Could use a little fattening up. The organ thing comes in a bit loud as well. I think it could be good if you fix those things. The mix needs that glue to hold it...
