I've tried that too. If I turn off the internal built-in soundcard., then just some of the sounds are'nt playe, And you can only hear what is playing through "Sonar" software.

I've used it without a power cable, and only with the USB cable amd its wotrked. I just want to make sure that I don't need a power connector that might improve my performance and the quality of the sound card that comes out of it.
