Final Cut X has a multicam feature that does this. But you could also just line them up to the music and sync by hand. No need for timestamps or anything, just make fine adjustments until the video is in sync with the music.

Yes, I used a pop filter for this. To be honest, this is the farthest I've ever recorded vocals from. I usually and very close to the mic and it captures more of a bassy tone. To experiment, I moved further back to knock out some of the bass.

I use Final Cut X for my split screen effects (Youtube: KatieHullMusic). I find it's easier to do without templates and it gives you more customization of how it's split. You can get a free trial on Apple's site of FCPX.
I use an Alesis DM8 to trigger the software instruments in some of my songs. Other times, I use the finger drum pads on my Novation Impulse. If the beat is too complicated to play on the finger pads, I'll go for the kit.
