Hi Im Jo! From darwin australia. I record with cool edit pro, play guitar and drums, compose with the free notation editor Musink (http://musink.net), and experiment with midi lots. Im not the best at evrything I do but I love doin it. Keen to meet simlar people :)

yea. Get hold of MIDI OX, hook up a keyboard or virtual keyboard to it, and you can see the kind of info that youl be dealing with. its pretty simple stuf. wat you need to do tho is have sumthing connecting to it, and dat will be the hard bit.

Buy second hand good stuff. Crap stuff breaks, usually sounds awful, sometimes can be tuned properly, cant be repaird. Good stuff lasts like forever and can alwayz be fixed up or improved later. If you have to fork out another $200 to get an old good kit, at least you know you can resell that...

Tone on those too good to be true is too sharp for me - makes my ears sting! I like think of me. A lot. Maybe a bridge or sumthing to make it longer? Good stuf
