I'm devoting the next three hours to learning how to record on the Zoom R16, standalone mode.
I'll try and come up with a track for you by day's end.
I'll also be using the AKG Solid Tube and AKG C451 EB if any-one's interested.
So I'm looking at opening my space up to small projects. Singer/songwriter, soloists. Basically, the kind of stuff that I'm doing.
I'm doing one project for free right now (just to see if I can) and so far, everything seems to be going well.
I'm thinking $35/hr but much of the work is being...
Anyone into mixing 5:1 surround?
I just got three Yorkvilles (YSM 1P II) and already own a pair of Behringer truths and an Echo Mona which has 6 outs.
Just wondering if it's worth remixing my last project and whether I would need a sub woofer or just any 8" woofer for bass.
I am finding that about one in four tubes that I buy are quite noisy in my mics.
Spits, sparks, bumps, rumbles and such.
They usually come with all sorts of test results showing that they are in great shape.
Are such tubes still good for amps and preamps or am I just being ripped off?
Anyone know anything about these?
I'm guessing it's another kit but being wrong is always an option for me. :)
Anyway; Just across the strait from me and no duties so, what the heck!
To any newbies asking about which interface to buy (February 2011)
M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB Audio/MIDI Interface 9900-51076-00
That is one of the right interfaces for starting out and is sitting at an incredible price.
Don't know how long this price will last but it seems to me that they've...
Think I'm going to pull the trigger on one today.
I'd like to retire the Compaq C and move up to one of the dual compressor PCs that I've put together.
I have advised so many people to adopt this card and think I'm now ready to take my own advice.
Some excellent deals on E-bay means that I can...
Saw a thread on this the other day and thought it was about time to give it a try.
I'm using the AKG Solid Tube for vocals, a Blue Bluebird for Tenor Guitar and the Golden Age R1 MKII suspended above the vocal mic for the figure eight.
Pardon the song and the singing of it.
I just bought 2, brand new from the States and I'm keeping one.
I've paid the postage & duties.
If anyone in Canada is looking for one (no HST)... $300 and I'll pay the postage.
That's break even for me.
A quick A/B on vocals.
I'll only be leaving this up for about a week or so then I'll swap it for one with just the AKG.
Verse 1 is the AKG then it alternates between that and the Behringer.
I think the difference is quite unambiguous but wouldn't fault either mic.

That's...
Well, it's here.
No idea what it is, really.
If there was ever any paperwork with it, and I believe there was, the creepy guy I bought it from removed it.
I'm guessing it's one of those kits Aurycle.com - Manufacturer Direct Pricing on professional studio microphones, usb microphones and...
I know, another "Who uses it?" thread.
What I want to know is; Is anyone actually using one of these, right now and can tell me what they think of it?
And by "Using it right now" I mean, "Got it warming up in the studio and can't wait to get back to it", kind of using it.
There are other multi...
I'm pretty well settled on the brand and will one day, own the C414.
In the meantime, I'm thinking C214 or solid tube.
Two entirely different animals, I'm sure.
Anyone got both?
Just picked up an ATM 450.
Thought it was about time to spend something on instrument mics instead of just the LDCs.
