Thanks, MM. The website says its like a detangler 8.8, optical only, 15 I/O ports.
It won't be syncing /clocking per se, only passing it thru, hopefully.
I'll set up some tests before running the fiber drops and see what's what. If I have to, I'll find a suitable master clock.
Thanks!
About to pull the trigger on purchases to connect the control room, tracking room, listening room/lounge, and iso room together.
Tracking core is a Profire 2626 w 2 ADA8000's, control room core is a pair of MOTU 2408 mk3s, and I'll use additional ADA-8000s or similar as terminals in the other...
Theoretically....from an audience distance....most instruments become point sources of sound waves. You have to get pretty close to, say, a guitar, to hear differences in tone from the soundhole, body, neck etc.
Those point source sound waves radiate out spherically, sort of, to interact with a...
You have a 4 dimensional soundspace to work with.
Left-right placement, using pan/balance, M/S, and phase/timing (experimental).
Top to bottom, frequency dependant, this is (arguably) the most sure-fire way to separate instruments.
Front to back, using reverberation and delay, with a side...
Searching, I find a Polk PSW-10, not a DSW-10.
Amazon.com: Polk Audio PSW10 10-Inch Monitor Series Powered Subwoofer (Single, Black): Electronics
On the above page, I find two items of note.
One, the crossover frequency is variable, from 80 to 160. You can try dialing that up to see if you...
Threshold picks a level, above which, signals stay the same, or get quieter(depending on the ratio setting), and below which, signals are unaffected. Period.
Signals below the threshold level stay the same until you increase the makeup gain.
When you compress, you can knock down the peaks...
Not familiar w 003, but I do what you are asking at will, the routing is accomplished not in the ADA-8000, but in its host, in my case, the DSP in an M-Audio 2626.
In effect, the 8000 is two separate devices, 8 analog inputs to ADAT out, and an ADAT in feeding 8 analog outs.
The 2626 DSP...
Oh listen to you.
I light this up with common sense that's been unpopular for 50 years and you try to cop the prize.
Fine.
Your prize is a flat cat, a string to swing it with, and a bunch of meter springs stuck in half your faders.
Quick q.
Is that 1x12 on the back line facing forward, on the front line facing forward, or turned sideways behind the mains so you aren't competing with the mains?
Best bands round these parts are using sideways combos. Its not perfect but I don't think its an accident either. I call it progress.
You've got it.
Its about the objective, and the reality you traverse to achieve it. If its time to fill your personal world with the sweet sound of crunch, fill it.
If its time to collaborate with other musical minds, whether for personal joy, or financial compensation or any combination, its...
Thank you very very much for your permission to use a well designed, full range cabinet to communicate whatever I feel like saying with as few limitations as possible. Actually, I'm greedier than that. Think line out, my rack, and however much Crown power it takes to drive the best array I can...
And...again for you undecideds...note the difference between great guitar sound...and commercially successful band music.
When your room is smaller, or the stage is bigger than the 20 foot throw of your 412 mudhose, and you want to LOOK like a rockstar, build you as big as wall as it takes to...
In a casino, the stage is usually bigger than the clubs you have to win to get the casino gigs. The phase cancelling mush never even makes it to the front line.
If it works for Madison Gardens, it oughtta ROCK Joe's 50 seat Bar n Grill, right?
Now...why do studios put 412s in a box or closet...and not on the meter bridge?
Why doesn't Northwest fly100 412s for a Stones gig...those boys can afford the BEST...right?
I'm hearing that 412s can somehow accomplish magic that NO OTHER TRANSDUCER DESIGN CAN EVEN APPROACH...
...and I'm...
