TEAC DX-8 Volume Jumping Problem. Help Needed.

No prob. Aromat, Panasonic and Matsushita make these relays. They are NF4EB-12V

TEAC DX-8 Volume Jumping Problem. Help Needed.

The unit is under the 80-8 and there is plenty of ventilation. The DX-8 is vented top and bottom and there is about an inch of space above and below. The relays themselves on these 3 problem channels seem looser than the others when you shake the cards. I think they're just worn out. I just...

    What's your Tascam product?

I have a TASCAM 38 as well and its a great deck. They can be problematic in the relay and cold solder joint department if they've been sitting for a long time. A belt and pinch roller replacement is standard with these as well. Thanks! Well I do most of my tracking on the TEAC 80-8 1/2" 8...

Ooh I'd love to get that deck! I'd swap out my Tascam 32 for a 3300 as a mastering deck in a heartbeat. The A-3300SX is a 1/2 track mastering deck if I recall correctly? Thanks! That top synth is a MicroMoog! LOVE IT! A good buddy gave it to me in trade for fixing some of his gear. That thing...

New Mix for my bands EP

Sounds very good for this style of music. I have a few guitar students who are working on stuff like this and what strikes me and frankly really bugs me about this type of production are the drums. I just don't dig the totally mechanical performance with no dynamic fluctuation whatsoever. Love...

TEAC DX-8 Volume Jumping Problem. Help Needed.

Yeah after messing with this thing some more I'm pretty sure the relays are the problem. I cleaned the card slots thoroughly and the 3 problem channels are still intermittent when I wiggle or tap on the cards. It sounds as though the DBX is engaging and disengaging, thus it seems like a big jump...

haha! That's not Billy Corgan. That's my head on a Mini Me cutout! I was working at a sign shop many years ago and I came to work one morning to be greeted by that guy. Gets a lot of laughs.

TEAC DX-8 Volume Jumping Problem. Help Needed.

I recently purchased a DX-8 DBX unit for my Teac 80-8(some of you may have seen my posts regarding a diy control cable which I was finally successful in making) I finally used the unit two nights ago tracking drums and was simply blown away by how good it sounds! I was VERY cautious about level...

TEAC 80-8 DIY control cable for connection to DX-8D DBX unit. Need pin config.

Diy DX-8 control cable success!! I finally got someone who was kind enough to check the connections on their cable and now after examining the correct pinout and the schematics it has become quite obvious that the Dx-8 schematic is not for the remote jack. It is for the channel card...
