Hi,
I was mixing a song yesterday when I found that track 16 on my MS16 wasn't putting out any audio, despite the VU meter moving. I found that playback was fine with DBX disengaged but it cuts out when I switch the DBX on. This is a problem since the track was recorded with DBX and therefore...
Hi,
The NAB adapters on my Tascam MS16 are getting a bit worn. 1/4" and 1/2" seem to be easily available but I can't find 1" anywhere. Does anyone know where I could try?
Thanks,
James
Okay, it seems like at least one of those options will be doable. Thanks! In terms of fitting it, does anyone know what would be involved? Ideally I would hope I could access it from the back rather than having to take the whole machine apart from the front. Also, what sort of noise level is...
Hi,
I was wondering if any MS16 owners here had changed the fan in their machine. As you will know if you own one, it's extremely noisy and having it in the same room as instruments can be a problem. it appears to be a 60mm 24v fan and the one fitted is a fbp 06b24l. Firstly, if anyone has...
Thanks for the replies! It seems like the 160 would do stuff that my other compressors don't. What's slightly confusing me is that some people describe it as being transparent while others say that it has colour. Is this to do with how hard you push it? I'm wondering if I could use it for, say...
Hi,
I'm thinking of adding another compressor to my rack. I currently have an ART pro VLA II, a dbx 166XL and a Behringer Tube Composer. The ART is my favourite and gets used first, followed by the DBX, then the Behringer which hardly gets used. I'm considering getting a DBX 160a to compliment...
Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade my studio monitors. I currently have Studiospares SN10s and am not satisfied with how they sound. I've seen some JBL TLX7 speakers for sale and can't find any info online about them. Does anyone have any experience with these speakers?
Thanks,
James
Here's a Christmas song by my side project Ziggy Zigford and the Zigsters. It's our first song for a couple of years and is recorded all in analogue. Enjoy!!
My band has just (today) released a new album called Ballroom Dancing. It's all recorded in analogue at home using my MS16 and Studiomaster desk. I can answer any more gear questions if anyone has them :) Here's a mix we put together of it:
Enjoy :D
I use an old studiomaster 20-16-2 desk with my MS16. Having 16 busses is great and the sound is good but it is pretty old now so has quite a lot of crackle on pots etc. Also, there are no mute switches and only two aux sends which is annoying. If you've got the money to spend, the Toft ATB range...
As far as I'm aware, by virtue of creating something, you own the copyright to it. Then it's just a case of having some sort of proof that you made it first. I know a lot of people post it to themselves and keep the envelope sealed.
As said above, turning down the gain and turning up the volume was the biggest step for me in getting a good distortion sound. I find that I have to turn down the gain a lot compared to on stage to get a good sound, otherwise it just comes out sounding fuzzy and undefined. I don't turn the amp...
