The volume slider pot is worn & broken. If you're a bit into DIY, replace the volume pot. I had same problem with modulation and pitch bend on both Q88 & Q49. I replace those pots and the problem is gone.

I believe most people don't use Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 anymore. It was released some 20+ years ago... Why don't you try Cakewalk By BandLab for free?

What Windows? 7 ? 8? 10? 32 or 64 bit? I have Digitech RP355 , and can easily record audio (guitar) through it using ASIO driver bundled. I'm in Win7 x64 running latest Cakewalk by Bandlab.
