I see your point, if a drummer prefers to do it that way and it works then they should definitely do it. It's just personally I find that once I start playing around the click instead of strictly to it then it starts getting distracting. Also I would assume it depends a lot on the music style...

What I was trying to say was that if a drummer is so unsteady that you notice them speeding up and slowing down, then they probably aren't a great drummer and wouldn't sound good with a click simply because they can't play well. And I still stand by my second point, it's not that I can't play...

I made the mistake of mixing in stereo for my first demo album thing which I made over the summer. I think the stereo sound is okay but when you listen in mono it just collapses. It's the guitars that are the main culprit for this. Double tracking or even worse simulating double tracking makes...

Simple.. Only compress until it's how you want it to sound, not until it's how loud you want it, then turn everything else down so the mix is right. The mastering engineer will bring it up to volume in a nice way, there's no need to get the volume up yourself.

I don't think song structure should be decided from the offset, when I write I like to see what follows next naturally and then take a step back and see if it fits overall. If you want to have control over the loops but not have to write the entire track, you can write your short midi sequence and then loop it. I would say in terms of the beat it's more limited by your MIDI editor than EZdrummer. Also looping doesn't sound as robotic as it could because of the...
