i'm also on a mac but cubase studio 4 and i lose all audio output on a regular basis. usually after i've been using it for a couple of hours. i've tried altering the buffery thing and making audio priority and all that but it still happens. the meters keep going but no sound is output. all i do...

accidental damage cover on your home insurance??? most only cover up to a certain value but if it's there, use it.

our other guitarist has a Love rock LP. of course we ragged him mercilessly when he got it for buying a guitar with a gay name but it's a very good guitar indeed. and about 1/3 of the gibson price!! (another source for piss taking for being so cheap as well but hey, we have fun doing it)

Engl Screamer 50W through a Mesa 1x12 cab I've got the vertical Engl 2x12 cab for it as well but prefer the mesa one, has a warmer sound and not as heavy!

100% analogue for me (until it hits cubase ha ha) engl 50w screamer through a mesa 1x12 cab. sm57 plus a rode nt1a then through the soundtracs topaz before it goes to the motu. just don't like fiddling with too much on a computer screen tbh plus that lot sounds great with any of me guitars...

late in the thread i know... but i'd agree 100% with this. AJFA was a massive disappointment for me when i rushed out and bought it, great music sounding horrible, overcompressed kick drum and just....bleurghh. 1/10 see me after school. that said i've got some small faces "rarities" that sound...

tbh you normally pay in dollars what we pay in pounds as things are cheaper over there so you're probably looking at the 400 dollar mark. an exact conversion would be about $630 at current rates.

i bought a nice cheap gibson LP junior II as a back up guitar and like it so much i actually use it as my main one now! the LP classic hasn't been used since! just love the P100's and the smooth sound :) all for less than 400 quid ;)

i use gibsons live but also a G&L which i think of a real fender if you know what i mean. ;)

we've recently started using the exact same 4 mic setup as that used by mr. moon whilst recording quadrophenia. quite impressed by the sound as well, nice and simple.

Bless me father but it's been a while since i used my studio... When I registered here I was just getting it all set up but now I'm using Cubase 4.1 Studio, Motu 828 and a lovely Soundtracs Topaz Project 24 with a Macbook. Currrently working on getting a demo together, I'm in a hard gigging...

and now it works?? all i did was run up se3 and try that, the motu appears in the devices setup. closed it down, opened up Studio 4 and it appears in that too! no idea how i did it but it works now.:confused: phew.
