    Guild JF-3012

They made a few in Corona, CA before moving production to the factory where they build Tacoma's (Washington State, I think). I have the 6 string version, one of the last ones made in RI. I love that guitar.

    Suggest me some Tele Pickups

I think you'd be happier with the Kinman Broadcaster set. The others are going to be more Buck Owens than Buck Dharma.

Who here has played a G&L or G&L Tribute?

I just got a very good deal on a Tribute ASAT Special. It's on eof the old ones with the Tribute logo instead of G&L. To my mind, the pickups sound more Jaguar/Jazzmasterish than P90, but the are defintely hot. Fit and finish are impeccable, and the price was too good to pass up. Go for it.

Add Bigsby B5 to Standard Tele or hold out for 60s Custom Tele w/Bigsby?

Another thing to consider is that you will also need to shim the neck. I'd save up for the Bigsby Tele.

    Martin 000-15

I like an LDC on my D15. I've had great luck with an AKG C414 about 2" below the treble side of the bridge.

    A Tale of Telecasters

I believe it's both. Unplated brass saddles and the 3 saddle bridge seem (to me anyway) to contribute to that telecaster twang, bite and snap they are known for. In my experience, you get less of that with the modern bridge. Now, that being said, the one you bought is the right one for you...

    A Tale of Telecasters

I have 3, 2 Japanese 62 Reissues and a Mexican 50's Classic Esquire. If you really want true tele tone, you need a 3 saddle bridge. The American ones intonate better, but don't quite get the sound. I have compensated brass on all mine, and they have no issues playing in tune up the neck.

I've Decided on My Next Guitar

Get an MIM 60's Classic Tele. Great bang for the buck. The other alternative is to shop around Ebay for a Japanese Tele. I have 2, and they are both fantastic instruments.

    Strats Vs Les Pauls

Nuts. So what should I do with my Teles, Gretsch and Rics?

    Boomy acoustic guitar :(

Another thing to try is to aim the mic just below the treble side of the bridge, aimed away from the soundhole. I get good results from that position.

    Shameless act of self-promotion...

I have to say I'm disappointed that Cleveland Steamroller didn't make the cut for album title, but c'est la vie. Congrats David. You rock (or prog, or whaterever)

Acoustic pickups for a live performer??

If you've got the bucks, Sunrise is the way to go. I have one in my main performing acoustic. The bitch of it is, to really get the best out of it you have to buy the preamp with it which doubles the cost. The Rare Earth is an excellent alternative, as is the EMG ACS and Baggs M1.
