Thank you for the suggestion. I'll try it. You are correct, I mean digitally. This experiment can serve as a basis to determine how many distinct sounds does it take to simulate hundreds or, thousands of sounds. It can be used where 'large' background activities are required.

I am trying to simulate thousands of metronomes 'beating' at different rates, simultaneously. It's an experiment to see how many of them can be heard before it becomes just noise. I would appreciate all ideas on how I can accomplish this. Thanks you
