eek! I just bought a Ross 4 track..

Heya fellas, I saw this Ross 4x4 thing on ebay and it looked pretty sweet so I bid on it. I didn't really think I would win it because I only bid about $75 and I thought it'd go for higher because they seem pretty rare. Well I won it for $66.. I found almost nothing online about it. Does anyone...

    acoustic guitar chunes

The best album I've gotten with just voice and acoustic guitar is Patty Griffin's, Living with Ghosts. It's incredible! 1000 kisses is even better, but there are a few more instruments. Corey

    Vocals- 7 Nation Army

That Loretta album is incredible. Here's a pretty cool article about Toe Rag and the White Stripes. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct03/articles/toeragstudios.htm

Digital Portastudio with EQ and panning knobs

I use a laptop and Audition and I love it, but I also like to be a little more portable. I think this is the first DAW that has real knobs and stuff, and I just thought that was pretty cool.

It has 24 bit preamps and records at 16 bits.

    Mastering on BR 864

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "it only comes out one side". I'll tell you what I do. I hope this helps. You have to enable mastering mode at the top under "record mode". Once that's done it'll ask you what 2 tracks you want to master, then it'll ask what 2 tracks you want to output to...

    br864

I agree, the Boss is incredible. It's really easy to use and totally fun. It's got 24 bit preamps and a usb output so you can import wav. files to your computer. Good Luck Corey

    Cassette vs. Reel-to-reel

    I'm not the only one.

    Cassette vs. Reel-to-reel

Of course 1/2" will sound better. I didn't say it didn't.

    Cassette vs. Reel-to-reel

I didn't say that. But analog is analog. There's wider tape and narrower tape, and some run fast and some slow. But it sounds like analog because it is analog.

    Cassette vs. Reel-to-reel

Yes they are. Don't worry about it. Use what you have and just make good music. Corey
