You are absolutely right. I had a pair of Aheads about 10 years ago and I went through cymbals constantly. I'll never go that route again. However, if you a light hitter and keep new sleeves, then you probably would be ok with them.

Love my GMS and will probably stay with them for a long time. I also use a DW Cravioto 13" snare.
