Newbie question on Snare head replacement

I've noticed sense I have gotten DW drums the connecting rods(and all hardware in general)loosen more frequently. This may be that the thread slip, or that over time I have cared about my tuning and drum postions more as I've become a better player. In other words I don't know if the lower...

Newbie question on Snare head replacement

I use Remo Emperior X heads, and I've found that the more plys the tighter it will need to go to get rebound. For single ply heads you might have to be concerned with that but afterwords I'd say you would have to be putting a lot of force on the drum key to do this. Emperior X's are nice...

    Old dog, New tricks

I suggest a simple exercise for build speed and playing your feet accuratly. Play RLRL with your hand followed by RLRL with your feet and so on. Do the same with LRLR and parradiddles RLRR hand RLRR feet repeated, and LRLL hand LRLL feet repeated. Start very slow playing at 60, 72, 80 bpm...

    How's my first drum mix?

For the most part every "click" is a quater note. So if your playing a tab or somthing that is written out you need to find out the NOTE VALUES first before you know where to place it around the click. In general for rock beats you are going to be dealing with eighth note patterns, so this...

Newbie question on Snare head replacement

Try changing the angle of the cymbal so that the shoulder of the stick does not strike the edge of the cymbal. Then the tip of the stick will strike the body of the cymbal and they won't crack as easily. "temporary" fixs can be drilling a small hole at the end of the cracks(works for a little...

    Iron Cobra or Eliminator!

I use DW 9002 It kicks ass, I've never broken a foot board, but have had to have a few of the universal joints replaced(under warrenty). Previosly I owned a Pearl eliminator, and after a few years its hinge wore out (the pins would wobble out). I am not a fan of that pedal even though the have...

    How's my first drum mix?

Start the tempos off slow, until you get it clean then speed it up. You will be able to build speed faster that way and have better control. The metronome should be your best friend. Buy isolation headphones, and plug them into your mixer(if it has a headphone jack, computer's jack if not)...
