Software that includes "pencil push" editing?

Hello again. I read in one of my books that there are some software packages that include an option called "pencil pushing." This seems to be where you can edit a wav. just by using your curser as a pencil (re-draw it to some extent). I'm fairly sure Pro Tools would offer this, but anyone...

Pops added whenever I do ANYTHING in Cool Edit!!!!!!!!

Oh hell yeah I've rebooted! This has been going on since September (9-9-99?????), and it's just been getting worse. So, of course, the computer has been restarted tons of times. Also, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program in hopes that a file was corrupt. Nada. The Sound Blaster...

Pops added whenever I do ANYTHING in Cool Edit!!!!!!!!

Wow! Dragon himself! We're bringing in the big guns now! But seriously, I have a Sound Blaster 16 plug and play or something like that. I had really hoped that it was the card, since I'm buying a new one for Christmas. But it seems to happen at times when the card shouldn't be involved...

That's what I'm using though. Wav files. Not mp3s!

Pops added whenever I do ANYTHING in Cool Edit!!!!!!!!

I am running into a analog mini-mini jack of a Sound Blaster soundcard. I am running out of a Roland VS880. This also will happen if I choose my CD player as a source. The other day I was TRYING to make a mix CD, and I was playing the songs using the CD player while recording with Cool Edit...

Pops added whenever I do ANYTHING in Cool Edit!!!!!!!!

Yes, hello all! I am not going to have a good holiday if I can't figure this out: all of a sudden, I've started to have pops introduced into my wavs while using Cool Edit. I mean, I can't do anything without this happening! Copy and Paste = POPS, Amplification = POPS, erase = POPS...

How do you get it LOUD???

I don't think I have Cool Edit PRO. I just have Cool 96. I don't seem to have a waveform editing screen, unless that's what you call the main screen. I don't get how you can compress each individual track (if what you mean by "track" is each instrument. I think that's what you mean. Do you...

How do you get it LOUD???

Wow. I didn't know I'd start such a thing. Good to know that people are so helpful! What is this wave bundle program or whatever you speak of? Where can it be found? How much does it cost? It sounds like something I could use maybe. I can't really compress each track individually...

How do you get it LOUD???

Thanks Rockit Recorder man. That was so well thought out and easy to understand. And now I understand that I will probably need to get the stuff mastered by a pro, because I could never attempt such a feat. Now I must go to work ($$$). Thanks again!

How do you get it LOUD???

Thanks for all your help people! I think the answer probably is that I'm just mixing onto shareware and not Pro Tools or good ol' analog tape or something like that. I'm thinking about maybe taking my mixes into a studio and seeing if they can do anyting that will make them a bit more rocking...

How do you get it LOUD???

thank you Emeric! However, this isn't really the solution. I should have mentioned that the wav is already normalized to 99%. The loudest peaks hit right under the mark. It's still way quiet though. I think there must be some magical compression that makes it loud as hell without making it...

How do you get it LOUD???

Okay, here's what's been buggin' me for the longest time: I can't get my homerecorded CDRs to be anywhere as loud as the professional CDs put out today by other bands of similar sounds. Ever since my songs got more distorted and thick, they've never been as loud as they should be (the...
