I am in the market to purchase a microphone to record both my acoustic/electric guitar and my electric guitar into the Mic input of a Terratec DMX 6 fire. I can't seem to find much information on the specs of the input for this card and don't know enough about impedance matching and phantom...
I have a pretty decent sense of rhythm (even though I'm a guitarist):D and my midi drumming isn't horrible, but I'd like to be able to tighten it up somewhat. How does the quantitize feature work? When I used it, it through my kick drum into some awful off beats. Any ideas or solutions...
Sonar 2.2XL.
I read the help file about how to set up the metronome feature for recording and I'm able to hear the "click" through the PC speaker, but when I'm recording while monitoring through headphones, I can't hear it. Any ideas?
My soon to be old setup is this...
Athlon 1.2ghz
640mb sdram
Abit KT7
20 gb WD HD
Does anyone know of any conflicts running a mobo (Shuttle an35n-ultra - nforce 2) with these chipsets along with an Athlon 1800 ,100gb WD HD, Terratec DMX 6fire and Sonar? Or have any first hand experience...
I have a Terratec DMX 6Fire and the M-Audio sp5b's
The Terratec has the standard 1/8" output on the back, but also has seperate left and right line out on the breakout box.
The SP5b's have both balanced/unbalanced 1/4" inputs and XLR inputs.
What way would be best to hook these up and what...
I just purchased a terratec 6fire audio card. It has midi plugs on the front of the breakout box.
I'm using an Oxygen 8 controller to trigger soft synths in Sonar.
The Oxygen 8 is set up to plug into the USB port or standard midi plug in.
I used to use an Audigy 2 (sold it) for midi and it...
I just received this card yesterday and so far, not so happy.
running:
1.2 ghz Athalon
640 Mb
Geforce2
20gb WD hd
I can't seem to get a decent wave file recording with my guitar for the life of me....
I'm plugged in through the line in port on the back of the card,
mixer settings:
ASIO =...
Ya know, I get the feeling these card manufacturers are up to something..... all of the sudden some of the 24/96 low latency ASIO2 recording cards have dropped in price or been discontinued.
Makes me think some "new" technology is forthcoming......
The Echo Mia is discontinued and Guitar Center is out of them in my area (they were only $99.00 last month on closeout)
:(
So I'm narrowed down to these two audio cards.....Audiophile or Terratec.
Anyone have any last minute advice, one over the other, before I make my purchase?
Using it to...
If I ditch my Audigy 2 , and pick up the Echo Mia, will I still be able to apply, record and monitor soft synths in Sonar using my midi controller?
I'm plugged into the mobo USB port not the soundcard.
Also, I'm using desktop speakers for now , not monitors.
What will I need to pickup to...
Echo Mia
M Audio 2496
Terratec dmx 6fire LT
They're all similarly priced, so what makes one stand out above the rest?
I'm trying to convince myself I need a replacement for my Audigy 2 since that seems to be the consensus......
I'm running soft synths in calkwalk via Midiman Oxygen and USB.....
I can save the files as midi files (*.mid) but can't figure a way to convert them.
Can someone help me out here?:(
