    Gibson Custom Shop

CS-336, very similiar to 335 with a slightly smaller scale. Plays very fast, 57 humbuckers, Tangerine Orange Burst finish. This is a very clean guitar. Includes Custom Shop hardcase. I think the retail on these is just about $2700 and I'm looking for $2000. Interested parties can shoot me a...

Played My First Taylor Last Night...

I am very happy with my Taylor. Hearing all pick sound is player, not guitar, related. Too bad that kid has a nice guitar but not the knowlege or ambition to maintain it.

    Outboard pre's into DAW

Sounds lie the pots might be dirty. I record the same with my 2400 (and did with my 1880). If it's that bad, you can always use a noise suppressor from on eof the effects cards. Does it do it on both channels or just one?

    The enemy I see....Is me!

Very nice job. Drums (specifically toms) are a little weak sounding. Very low tuned snares have never been my favorite, would be interesting to hear it with something with a little more crack. Guitar was a bit loud for my taste in one section with the vocal still going. I agree that the bass...

    Indie/pop/rock band.. comments?

Only had a chance to listen to the first tune so far. Nice tune. The "S"s on vocals are a little hot at times and during the hook of the song I wasn't able to make out all of the words...perhaps the Rhodes style piano was a little to loud and taking away the vocal. It also sounded like the...

    ^ for weekend crowd.

What makes a guitar SO expensive?

You pay for detail. Is this the best piece of wood available right now? Are all of the frets just right? Is this neck right for this guitar? I don't want to sound like a guitar snob, but I do lean to higher priced models from reputable manufacturers. I don'tmind paying for a guitar that has...

Some new songs for you guys to critique - Guitar-based pop stuff

The instrument parts. Each is very clean but instead of sounding like they are working together, they sound very "distant" from each other. Not distant in a proximity kind of way, more like if a band was playing that tune and each member was in a different room playing along to a click. All...

Roland VS-1880 w/effects card and more...

Cleaning out some stuff: Roland VS-1880 (OS1.0) with 1 effects card, all three manuals and original package. No CD Burner. $500 Gibson 2005 Custom Shop 336 in Tangerine Burst. Fantastic guitar, great sound plays super fast and comfortable. Pretty sure all the case candy is there. Played...

Some new songs for you guys to critique - Guitar-based pop stuff

Very long intro on the first tune and I agree that there is a lot of stuff going on in the tune. Although it is very clean sounding, it never sounded "together." Each part could be heard very well, but they didn't seem to gel. The vocal sounded like you would be singing directly into the...

    Funky funk tune-with real instruments

Nice tune. The hard panned guitar to the left was kind of distracting at times when the sax was the lead intrument. Made it difficult to find the "melody" of the tune. Drums were a little weak. Great guitar sound, nice job on the sax, bass was a little thin in the low end on my system...

    I should know this but?

The Harry Fox Agency are the folks to contact. Depending on the amount of CDs you are making, you may not even get a mechanical liscense...you may have to go for a cumpulsory liscense. Yes, you pay per CD...whether you sell them or give them away. Sometimes if it is a short run and you...

    Overdubbing by yourself:

Can youset auto punch-in/out points? You said "play the part" so I'm assuming this is a guitar part or something...get a longer guitar cord and stay where you're at and use a footswitch(if supported). I have been known to hit the REC button with my nose when doing guitar/bass overdubs.

    Drive is busy

Drive is busy indicates too much processing power is being taken up. How much stuff do you have stored on it? Do you back your work up and remove it from the machine? Pretty big drive in the 2400 so it sounds like you may have too much on there.

You guys want to see a killer drummer?

Well he has the heel/toe thing down. The one-handed roll is good. I felt like I was watching a loop, however...same thing over and over. Kid has his shit together, just not my type of drumming. Props to them for putting out a video with their drummer playing a 4 piece kit. Amazing how many...
