If I edit an mp3, when I save it will it be re-encoded? I've been using Cool Edit Pro 2.1 for years. In it need to silence a bit of noise on a 48000 Hz 128 kbps mp3 (I demuxed from an .avi). Do I need to use a dedicated mp3 editor if I want to avoid re-encoding?

is it possible to get Cool Edit Pro 2.1 to cut on on sector boundaries? (or to even display them?) thanks! coyote2
