Hi all,
While I'm doing the mixing of my project, I have noticed that cymbals that appear in the center of the mix, because they are being picked up by both everhead, seem to dissapear. Cymbals that are way to the left or right seem to be quite clear, but the ones inthe center seem to lack...
Okay, now I've got it in my hot little hands. Latency issues have been addressed and there is great improvement with live mixing. It isn't perfect, but a great improvement from the last version.
i like the look of the new interface, especially the console view.
I'll post some more thoughts as...
The USB protocol for audio transfer works well for many applications, but as Mac users will contest, it's hard to find USB audio devices that are supported in the Mac OS.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked them. I'll be sure to post the mixes when the vocals are added.
I used Right-Click MP3 to encode those files. I have had other people mention that they couldn't play them either. I wonder why......

Hey there!
I have done some rough mixes of a few songs we're working on right now. I haven't recorded vocals yet, but I would love any ideas on EQing or processing ideas for these rough tracks. I have added some reverb, but thats about it.
They are the songs that contain "rough" in the title...
Hi there,
Well, Im well on my way into my first PC recording project. Everything is working great. I am through with the capturing process, and now ready to get into the audio processing realm.
My question is this. I used preamps on just about every audio signal I recorded. The results are...
Hello all!
Well NAMM came and went with no mention from Cakewalk of a new version of Pro Audio.
Yesterday, we recieved a fax from Cakewalk offering free upgrades to Pro Audio 9 if you buy the studio mix package.
Is this a mistake? Has anyone else heard any concrete evidence of Pro Audio 9.0...

For example: If you are trying to play 6 audio tracks simultaneously, you should have your playback buffers set to 6 or more.
I hope this helps...
I would suspect that the drummer isnt happy with his "real" kick sound. Tune it up, and mute it as necessary with blankets, pillows or whatever works.
I would definately mic a kick over a trigger any day. I like a big open sound on all of my drums. Use a good bass mic, such as a AKG-d112. It...
I'm a drummer and heavily into recording on my PC. I would say this: If your drummer knows his electronic equipment inside and out, and can adapt and change his setup as the recording dictates, then go for. If he is unsure of how things work and isn't flexible, stick with micing the live kit...
Well, I would do a search for a glossary of terms on this website, but here is a brief definition for you.
1. A compressor is a dynamic processor that is very much like a person with their finger on the fader bar. When the music gets loud, that person pulls the fader down until it is quieter...
Hi all you knowledgeable people....
I am at the point where I need to do some serious archiving of Cakewalk recordings.
My question is this: Should I open each .wrk file and then save it as a .bun on my CD drive?
How do I know how big the bundle will be before I tell it to save it as a...
keep on using your ears, they're the best tool you have as far as "getting it right".
if your ears aren't trustworthy, use someone else's ears.
