    freakin' Wharfedales...

Hey, I have exactly the same problem with the 8.2a as the original poster. Happened after a few weeks, and I didn't thrash them at all. Problem is, the place I bought it from wouldn't repair under warranty as I didn't have the receipt, and apparently it will cost me $90 to replace the tweeters...

    Headphone leakage problem!

A cool trick I picked up from somewhere or someone: Have the mono click track sent as a stereo feed to the headphones, making sure you phase-invert one side of the signal. That way the leaked click waveform is partly-cancelled out when it reaches the mic. It makes the click seem wider and...

    HELP.....Wharfedale TWEETER DEAD

$12? in the words of Kramer, "NOT BLOODY LIKELY!" I'm in Australia, and the Wharfedale dealer here (CMI) quoted me $80 for a pair, which is about $63 US. Unless you can get them for a lot cheaper in the US, in which case I'm gonna get on someone's back to get them and ship them to me. Jonathan

    WTB: Beyerdynamic MC713 (CV710 + CK703)

I would like to get hold of a Beyerdynamic SDC called an MC713. This comprises of a CV710n and a CK703 capsule + body. Please reply to this thread or email me at composition4@yahoo.com Thanks!

    Wharfedale replacement tweeter...

Hi all, I have a pair of Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2A's, and am looking at replacing the tweeters as they rattle etc (have done since day 1). Warranty is not an option because I've had the units for a year or so. The wharfedale dealers over here in Australia have quoted me $90 for the pair of...

    line level splitter

No impedance problems doing that? Signal loss?

    line level splitter

Quick question - I want to go zero-latency for 12 channels. Gonna connect a splitter box between preamps' outputs and interface's inputs. Will the "loop" function on the below product degrade the signal in any way, in terms of impedance changing/noise etc? I want to connect the "loop" (which i...

How does changing phase by say, 40 degrees work?

Thanks again for the replies. Glen, be sure to let us all know when you learn a bit of information.. I'll see what I can find out also. Jon

How does changing phase by say, 40 degrees work?

Good to see I'm not the only one who doesn't wholly understand this! So.. If I have a recording (say, a single snare beat) and I set PhaseBug (which supposedly just delays the signal to achieve phase-shift?) to put it 38 degrees out of phase (compared to the original snare signal)- by how many...

How does changing phase by say, 40 degrees work?

cool as... thanks for your help there :)

How does changing phase by say, 40 degrees work?

nope it actually shifts it by a degree value

How does changing phase by say, 40 degrees work?

sorry... just to be clear, i'm not talking about a phaser effect... i'm talking about a fixed-rate phase shift.. somewhat like Betabugs PhaseBug. The phase shift is constant in that

How does changing phase by say, 40 degrees work?

oh.. i just thought it through.. of course. if i shift it by say, 10 samples, it will.. ok, gotcha. so these phase shifting programs are just delays? how do they know how much to delay the signal to get it a certain amount out of phase?

How does changing phase by say, 40 degrees work?

Yep.. i understand that applies for a fixed-wavelength signal.. but in a complex signal such as most of the stuff we record, it is made up of many different frequency/wavelengths and amplitudes. It's not constant.. Am I making sense?

How does changing phase by say, 40 degrees work?

I know there are plugins for this type of thing, but how do they actually work? I understand the science behind flipping the phase by 180 degrees... make the positive amplitude negative, and vice-versa. But how do you change by say, 90, or 40, or any other number? Is it a time-based thing?
