Another vote for the SR-18 ... I've had an SR-16 since 1991 and it's a great little tool for when the 'real' drummer is off swinging from the trees and thumping his chest. My DM5 has a wider range of sounds, but lacks any kind of built-in patterns. Jamming with it requires a drummer with pads...

I don't care for the synth that comes in at 0:45 with the 16th notes... I like the 'organic' nature of the tune up until then. I'd like to hear that instrument ripped out, and something more subtle put in. It's definitely a nice "interlude" piece though.

I've had a pair of DMT-8VLs for about 11 years now. One of these days, it might be time to upgrade. Mainly because I feel that recorded tracks have sort of a thin, MP3 sound due to crappy A/D converters, and that newer tech would solve this problem. Could be wrong though.

I just picked one up from MF. Sounds fantastic compared to my Shures (as I'm sure most cardiods powered by 48v would), especially when you consider the 100 dollar price.
