I've never noticed any problems recording before, but was wanting to buy a laptop, and I seen a lot of post talking about fan noise etc... Is there any difference between desktop vs laptop? Also, I heard someone had noise on a laptop with their power supply??? Any help would be appreciated...
I was looking at a Macbook air with 4gb of ram and 128gb of flash storage. Would these be enough for music production? I wouldn't be recording a lot of instruments at once.
Okay, so I'm looking to buy a laptop that I would use to only record my music. Question, is a computers flash storage a big deal? 128mb, 500 mb, etc... Or can you save you project after your done with them to some external hardware, or usb flash drive? Thanks.
I'm looking into buying either pro tools or logic. Every thread I've seen says Logic is better for composing, and pro tools is better for mixing, but none of them explained why. Why would pro tools be better for mixing? Any info you guys have would be appreciated. Thank you.
I just found out about these. Could you recommend a good one to record a bass guitar? Also can you record your instruments straight into an audio interface, that has a preamp? Thank you.
Thanks. What would be a good interface with a nice sounding preamp? As far as DAW compatibility, I have garageband, but wouldn't mind stepping up to Pro Tools or Logic. I wouldn't need more than 2-4 inputs, and would need phantom power.
What's the difference? Do you need both? I'm looking to record vocals and instruments. Does your mic go into the preamp, then into the interface, then to your computer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Also if you get a plug-in preamp how do you use that?
