I have for sale an Electro-Voice RE20. Great mic that needs no introduction! Body shows a few blemishes from storage but it works and sounds just like it should. Original owner, bought new in '05, built like a tank, occasional use only. Includes the padded plastic case and clip. SOLD!

Agreed on 2" 16, that's what I aspired to and all the tracks I'd ever need for any analog project, but yeah, $330 reels, $800 MRLs and $550 relaps are all bummers. Modern recording budgets just don't justify it anymore.

Only if ya need more than 8 tracks from your 8-track :D :D ;) I often found that the limitations set me free. It was also useful in stopping clients from spending too much time chasing bad ideas down the rabbit hole, but I digress!

Ah, gotcha. Some projects I archived the tracks to pro tools and reused the tape, others I kept the tapes for archiving and bought more session stock. Sometimes I ended up doing both. Just kinda depended.

Lol current production 1" costs $180 per reel or more. $100 shipped for a nos reel is a good deal! Of course you can erase and reuse tape. I've found GP9 to hold up very well to repeated use. Sweetbeats, yeah, I closed down my studio space, decided not to open another one. Just wasn't fun...

Yep, about 33 minutes total recording time at 15ips. Surprised nobody's nabbed this reel yet.

Agreed on cutting off the connector and putting on a new one. You can get a box of new spades for a couple bucks at any electronics parts supplier, home improvement store, maybe auto parts store too. Bring the old one with you so you can match the size.

I've got one reel of 1" Quantegy GP9 tape for sale, 2500' on standard 10.5" NAB metal reels, in the plastic storage case. It's new old stock unused tape left over from a carton I had, sold my 1" machine, don't need the tape anymore. SOLD!

Can't edit the original post, but only the RME is left for sale and the new price for the RME is $725 PayPal'd and shipped in the lower 48 USA, firm and quite reasonable. Given that the fees alone will hit me about 50 bucks, this is a great price for great converters in great condition.
