    pitch correction feature on BR1200

Metalj, Yeah, I don't know where I got Mark. It must have been on the link or the wav title or something. Anyway, I did hear a little of the second song - screamin' guitar, by the way. Edit: PS: That new link didn't work. I got a "file not found" message, or something like that.

    pitch correction feature on BR1200

Mark, I was unable to listen to your songs. The first link didn't work, and the second one wouldn't play in full - probably due to my computer's shortage of resources. I could probably successfully download it and burn it to disc. Anyway, I get what you guys are saying, and you've answered...

    DR 670 w/ BR 1180

Valley Arts Kid, About the stereo thing - I plug a DR770 into my BR-532 via the L&R RCA jacks on both units. The drums are in stereo. I haven't seen either of your units close up, but I imagine they work the same way.

    pitch correction feature on BR1200

Actually, that all makes sense and helps a lot. Thanks.

    pitch correction feature on BR1200

huis14, Thanks for the input. Well, I wouldn't be buying the BR1200 just for the pitch correction, but I thought it would be a great pro feature to have if I did some "serious" recording. I suppose you get what you pay for, right? Anyway, what do you hate about the vocal toolbox? And what do...

    pitch correction feature on BR1200

I own a BR532 and am thinking of upgrading to a BR1200. Boss sales literature says it has built-in pitch correction for vocals. Is it any good? Does it work? Does it sound natural? And are there parameters to adjust, or do you just "turn it on"? For that matter, are the BR1200's mastering and...

    Looking for inexpensive preamp

Thanks Chris. I wasn't dead set on ART, or on tubes. I was only looking into the idea of a condenser mic, which would need a power supply. Some folks have recommended to just put the power supply money toward a preamp. Now I've been noticing some pre/comp combos, and thought that might be suit...

    Looking for inexpensive preamp

Okay, I get the idea that ART gets the thumbs down. But here is my situation: I'm using a Boss BR532 4 track with a Shure SM58. I plan to upgrade to a condenser mic soon - I really need more clarity and headroom - but really could benefit from some front end compression too. The compression on...

Newbie here! lookin to get a drum machine...need some guidance.

Boss DR 770 I own that machine too. It is pretty easy to program, once you get the hang of it. I also think the drum sounds are good. There are lots of features that I haven't tapped into yet -- probably more than I need. This is the only drum machine I've owned or used, so I can't really...

BR-864 Has anyone heard *ANYTHING* else about this?

Okay, I looked at the picture again. One of those faders must be for the rhythm guide, just like on the BR-532. I still don't know how they get 8 tracks, but they say they do. It definitely is a hopped up 532, for only $100 more. Too bad I already have a 532. So it goes in the world of...

BR-864 Has anyone heard *ANYTHING* else about this?

zZounds website says they will have more available by June 15. That makes it sound like the unit is on the street, but out of stock at zZounds. The literature I read says it you can have 8 tracks of simultaneous playback. So, I'm guessing two of those six faders are left and right masters, and...

video Is the video better than the paper manual? Clearer? More detailed? Or just a different media? Thanks.

Any tips for recording vocals with Boss BR-532?

Richard, I think you're probably right - especially about 57s. I seem to remember reading that a 58 is designed for live use. I honestly don't know how often they are used for vocals in the studio. Anyway, my main question is: How big an improvement is a plug-in mic over the built-in one on...

Any tips for recording vocals with Boss BR-532?

Richard, Good point. I don't want to spend more than the cost of the recorder. Also, an SM58 isn't really a recording mic - just an example of a common mic in an affordable price range. 72fender, I've seen the Roland mic in the catalog. Is it a condenser mic? Is it low impedance? How does it...
