I've been composing music since I was about five years old. My mother played Classical piano as there was always a piano in the house for cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors to play. (no one was actually forced to play) however, because my father directed the choir at our church and conducted rehearsals at home, played saxophone, wrote and arranged music for big bands, everyone wanted to be part of this musical family weather they were my mother's children or not. There was never any shortage of musical imagination within a five mile perimeter of my home. Where there was music, there was peace and love.

My first actual paying gig was with dad. I was twelve years old and dad had a wedding gig that Saturday afternoon. The bass player called in sick last minute and couldn't make the gig. But dad needed a bass player for the band. (The Woody Brown Orchestra) At about 4' 9", that's me standing on a milk crate reaching high up on the neck of a double bass fiddle thumping out deep bass tones in rhythm to an eighteen piece big band. From that point on, I was hooked. I formed my own bands from then on. At age fourteen, my band played for all the local community events and later in bars, hotels and restaurants around Connecticut and New England. At nineteen, I joined a band and moved to California where we recorded for A&M records. Traveling and gigging up and down the West Coast and Vegas Nevada in my late teens and early twenties, was like boot camp for a seasoned musician. We played the Fillmore West, The Whiskey, The Troubadour and scores of clubs, hotels and events in California in those early days of my music career.

Later when I arrived back in New England, I took up a jazz instructional position at U-Conn under the direction of Jackie McLean while continuing to perform solo piano gigs around the state and in greater New England. You might find me being commissioned to perform for the Governor's birthday party, events for the Lime Rock racing team requested by Paul Newman or performing for The Kennedy family in Salisbury Connecticut in the early eighties. From the late eighties through the nineties and up to today, I have been busy in my own music studios doing local projects and working with musical talent in the area. My music is widely listened to and downloaded across the globe just because it's well, fun to listen to for people in Africa, India, Sweden, Japan, Russia, Romania, Spain, the UK, Brazil, Columbia, Mexico and hundreds of towns and cities across the US.
