Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

Thanks although the snare is dead on center according to the Logic Pro pan control. So assuming that you’re monitoring is better than mine, it must be the overheads picking up some bleed. I’d prefer not to touch those as I’m quite happy with how those are balanced generally. Thanks again!

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

I take this comment to mean that you think it would be better in the center (if not, please do feel free to clarify!). Here it is with the snare at the center -- hopefully better! Mix, snare centered

"The Day They Robbed the Bank of England"

This is really awesome stuff. Great playing and some fantastic rhythmical elements. Not at all familiar with the Strymon Iridium but will be checking it out in due course.. Stylistically, I’m reminded slightly of the band Tool, but with more of a progressive twist. Quite Dream Theatre - esque in...

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

Thanks again for the feedback, I hope I'm finally a bit closer with this one. What do you think? Thanks in advance for listening! :-) Mix with louder drums

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. Here is another mix with the drums and bass brought up and the rythm guitars pushed down slightly. Any better? Philandering Fool -- louder bass and drums; slightly quieter rythm guitars

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

Thanks for the feedback. I've brought the drum snare and overheads up a touch. I'll have a think about the guitar parts and how I can improve my chops / arranging. Philandering Fool (mix 4)

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

So I've brought the drums down slightly. Any better? Philandering Fool (mix 3) Thanks for the feedback!

Work in progress - Guitar tone check - Black I (sample)

I like the wall of sound guitars but the drums are compressed a bit too heavily for my liking. Perhaps try rolling off a bit on that? That’s just my preference though! Look forward to hearing new mixes.

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

Thanks man, really appreciate the feedback! The second of the above two mixes (I.e., the brighter mix) has attempted to push the drums back a little. But yeah, I’m struggling a bit to get them to sit well overall.. Thanks!

Two songs in a genre I'm calling "Cinematic Industrial Rock" (music videos)

I also really like the production on these tracks. I didn’t listen all the way through on either but what I heard sounded clear and pristine. Great stuff and kudos also on the video production.

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

I've had a go at making the mix a little brighter; a bit less muddy I think. Is this any better? I think I have some kind of ear fatigue / need to invest in some better monitoring.. (I'm currently mixing on multiple sets of headphones -- yeah, I know; space is a limiting factor). Philandering...

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

Thanks for the feedback -- I'm going to try and tidy the drums up a little this weekend. Will aim to post up a new mix once done. Thanks!

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm using EZ Drummer for the drum parts all going into logic pro as a stereo mix (rather than as individual tracks for each drum part). I'm additionally applying a little bus compression on the stereo drum mix. But no EQ or anything.

Philandering Fool : another guitar instrumental. How is the mix?

Hey All, I've been working on a new guitar instrumental and wondering what people think. I've been experimenting a bit with compression on the guitar tracks which I don't normally use (I tend to prefer 'natural' amp compression). I think the mix is ok-ish but possibly a bit muddy in places...
