Did you do this without a frame? If so how did you get it to stay put? I was just looking at the window now and it’s recessed but it’s got a big edge where you open the window so my original frame idea may not work well, plus it’s got blinds so stuffing it seems like a better idea.
Hey all,
I'm a voice over artist and I'm having issues with traffic noises coming in through my bedroom window. I already have the window covered with these Isole sound barriers, but the noise is still super apparent: https://www.audimute.com/isole-sound-barrier-sheet
I can't afford a double...
Here's a quick comparison. Sorry, the new sample is pretty sibilant, working on taming that. But other that that and having to make adjustments for the increased sensitivity, pretty stoked with how its sounding. Oh, the new samples aren't finished, I know the levels are off and stuff. Just...
For the 1-2 of you waiting with bated breath, I went with *drumroll*
an Austrian Audio OC 818 and an Apollo Twin X
neither of which I think I brought up here as potential contenders lol. I know you guys will think the Apollo Twin X is overkill for what I do, which is true, but I have some...
How did you guys learn all this stuff? Did you just pick it up along the way or did you ever take any course work/apprenticeships? I recently got a tip to a few local studios that offer engineering classes that I'm looking into.
They are shorter, I had read either here or somewhere else that that might be helpful.
I'm hesitant to think I'll ever be brave enough to chop one up or try to do any cord work myself, but I will hang on to them as a "just in case", so who knows.
Maybe! lol
The two tourtek cable I had were pretty new with almost no wear and tear so I was a lil peeved to be replacing them so soon so I was like "fuck it"
Thank you everyone for your thoughtful comments and suggestions. I am appreciative, but very confused about what I should do lol. Right now I am buying some new cables that are much shorter so I've got less coiled around and overlapping and whatnot, it seems to get worse or better depending on...
Hmm what do you mean about the ground being grounded? I don't really know anything about electrical stuff but a few months ago I had an issue where turning off a light was causing interference in my cables and I think someone mentioned something similar.
I very much appreciate your thoughtful response, though 98% of it went over my head. ? So you are saying the cable type should be fine, but one might be faulty/broken? I live in the San Diego area, I'm not sure how close you mean by "nearby" but a quick google search is showing that there are...
Hi friends :)
I bought a cloudlifter to use with my EV RE20 and focusrite 3rd gen solo and now I'm hearing what seem to be very faint radio signals. Some basic googling says this might be an issue with my XLR cables? I currently use this kind of cable (Tourtek Pro TPM), do you think that is...
