do i really need an expensive guitar

I guess you need to define "expensive". To me expensive guitars are $6000 and above. Inexpensive are $1,000 and below. Inbetween those are the normal guieyes. To me. And no, you can't hear the difference between them - unless you are listening with your eyes.

What do i tell my Electrician to do

Clearly number each outlet and write those numbers on the chart in the breaker box. Drive an 8' copper ground rod outside your room and connect it to your pannel, using the correct size cable per your local code.

    Dual M-Audio Delta 1010LTs

I just finished installing a second M-Audio Delta 1010lt in my PC. I'm running Windows XP SP3 with 4 GB RAM. First the XP driver on M-Audio's site will not support dual 1010LTs. I called them and they told me that they would send me a link to a "special' driver that will work with dual...

How To Mic an Upright Piano

My studio is almost complete and I have decided to add an upright piano (no room or $$ for a grand piano). I have a line on a couple of uprights that look terrible (need refinishing but play & sound well) and are not too expensive. My though was to remove the top & front pannels and...

Win 98 & Win XP Dual Boot?

I ended up needing to run Win98 for my MOTU parallel port MIDI Express PC Notebook MIDI router. At first I used a Toshiba Libretto 70CT but I have now configured my Compaq Evo N600c laptop to boot DOS, Win98 SE, and Win XP SP3. It took awhile traking down all my old Win98 CD's & tools but I...

    AKG 391 vs Carvin M90

AKG's document on microphones reccomended a C391 to record clarinets. The C391 costs $540 - way out of my price range. Looking on-line I found a similar microphone - the Carvin M90. The specifications seem to be almost identical. http://www.carvinguitars.com/manuals/M90.pdf...

    BBroken Tailpiece Rick 620/12

After 14 months away (Iraq, long story), I opened up my '89 Mapleglow Rickenbacker 620/12 and discovered that the tailpiece had snapped. I called Rickenbacker and fell off my chair when they quoted me the price for a replacement tailpiece. $100. I gulped and said fine, I'll take one in...
