    2008 Martin D28 - horrible resonances

For years, whenever I re-string any of my acoustic guitars I push the string through the turn post and cut the string 3" beyond the turn post. Push the string back by 2-1/2" and begin winding. Too few wraps round the turn post can be problematic....or so I've learned (on my own) and read. Works...

Ooooh. I like the looks of that! Reminds me of my 1980 black LP I gifted to my daughter who traded it away. :spank:

Okay, you either can't (or prefer not) to post a photo. Clock is ticking. 😉

    Guitar Straps

15 to 20 years ago here at HR, a thread like this would've been full up with photos of guitar straps. The times, the times, are indeed changing.

    2008 Martin D28 - horrible resonances

I've listened to Guitar A and Guitar B mp3 files many times.. Guitar A mp3 file certainly does possess a low tone belllike overtone to it that quickly tapers off and then (all of sudden) we hear a pronounced higher pitched resonance or echo at a higher frequency. That can happen whenever a...

I'm glad you read the Martin guitar forum thread, and I agree that the discussion there was inconclusive, however, I still recommend it that you visit AGF for additional responses and suggestions. Everyone here (myself included) desires it that you find a solution in the near future.

And NOW (according to your latest posts) you're attempting to convince yourself (and other people) that it's the B string (not the G string) that is the root cause of all your resonant woes. You should also consider registering and posting at https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/

    Guitar Straps

Whenever I watch YouTube videos of famous or infamous guitar players I find myself looking at their guitar straps. Some straps are meh, but some straps are works of art. If you have a great looking strap, post a pic.

I totally agree with you! Plucking those two strings on any of my guitars (electric or acoustic) generates an intolerable resonance.
