    Mac vs. PC

Some of us really do spend most of our time MAKING music, really, honest... ;-) But on occasion... even the best of us need to roll on over to our favourite neighborhood BBS, for a little info on the latest gadget, or maybe we just needed a break from recording, but can't stomach Jerry...

    Remixing: tools for tempo/beat matching

Although I haven't found the magic elixir I'm hoping for, I do need to apologize for not doing more research first (bad, bad!) ;-) Anyhow, I did find reference to Sonar's Tap Tempo functionality, (oddly enough I couldn't find it using there 'help' index, I had to use Google)...

Newbie: Remixing, tools for tempo/beat matching

SPINSTER, I appreciate your helpfulness (and apparent good nature), however... it was entirely appropriate to post this question in two completely different locations as I couldn't be certain that I would get a response in both (and keep in mind that I posted both prior to you having...

    Remixing: tools for tempo/beat matching

perhaps now we're speaking the same "language" (the language of tap tempo!) ;-) I'll look into the Sonar feature you mention, though I don't have a legitimate copy so I'd prefer to use Acid or another tool Thanks again, and I'm enjoying the links.

    Remixing: tools for tempo/beat matching

Perhaps we're misunderstanding each other: 1. As you say, "of course" I'm not talking about loading an entire song. 2. I know how to edit. 3. I'm looking for a tool that will calculate tempo (see my original post), I said: "I heard that there are tools out there that allow you to tap along...

    Remixing: tools for tempo/beat matching

I'm assuming you're describing the standard approach in Acid for working with a sample that is already Acidized, hence it already has tempo/beat information... I've worked with both Acid and Sonar for creating loops, however, integrating a section of song doesn't always necessarily work well if...

    Remixing: tools for tempo/beat matching

I'm looking for a good article (or 1st hand knowledge) about how people approach remixing and to begin with identifying the tempo/beat: I heard that there are tools out there that allow you to tap along with the beat so you can identify the right tempo?, e.g. say you want to take a a four bar...

Look whut I got! Whut, choo got yall!

Re: Dudes! Well, I just got screwed by the "one post per 60 seconds" rule, and lost the whole reply I wrote up.. well, that's why I'm a newbie (live and learn) Anyhow.... I just listened to your track called "I can't help it", and it was pretty cool, definitely interesting, at first I...

M-Audio Ozone USB midi keyboard and 24/96 sound..

Anyone using it, and what do you think of it?? Considering I'm in need of a new sound card (and a portable one at that so I can bring it into work), AND I need a portable midi/keyboard controller.. this sounds like the ticket.

Here's another DIY approach, a bit different, but still very DIY, and with a Radio Shack thermometer! http://www.otheroom.com/iso.htm Or you could spend over a grand for the fancy ones! http://www.acoustilock.com/ http://www.custom-consoles.com/

What do you think of this DAW? (first time builder)

There are a lot of posts on the subject of tweaking XP on this site, (just need to do a few creative searches.. it's hard because 'XP' is too smalll a keyword!) ;-( I too just started playing with XP (still have Win98SE on another drive just in case). Anyhow, I can't say much about recording...

    Compressed(zipped)files

"zipping" or compressing is a process of removing data that can be put back when a user un-zips the file. It's based on patterns and algorithms, so, the data that was removed when you zipped the file was put back when you unzip it. No data is lost. www.google.com (works wonders)...
