Really good . Reminds me of Del Amitri ,hope thats a compliment . And if that's you playing all instruments, impressive. I would buy this.
 
It's pretty nice sounding man. I really like the way you made the web page for it as well. Nice full tone and pretty ballanced.
 
Hi Dave, thanks very much for listening and checking out the site. That's also very cool that you remember Priscilla! Not really working on an album. Just the site, where I hope to eventually have every song I've done or will do, and then that will be it! Thanks again, really appreciate it.

chandman-Not really sure what Del Amitri sounds like, but I will take it as a compliment anyway! I think they're sort of a power pop Beatlesque band, right? So that's good to me. There's no greater compliment than saying you would buy it, especially these days!! Thanks very much.

Thanks. The text is my handwriting (scanned paper as well as a font of my scribble).
 
This is absolutely fantastic, in fact its the best bit of work I've ever heard on any Home Recording site. Both composition and production.
Do you have any plans for your tracks?
I really think you could get this on a movie soundtrack.

I like the website, cool idea.
 
I hear a hint of George Harrison in both the musical arrangement and tune! I am liking it.

What a strong song, from start to end. And the mix too. I wish I had something of value to tell you - what to fix etc, but this song is well above my pay grade.

Right now, I have no plans beyond putting songs on my site, but getting this on a soundtrack or something would, of course, be great.

Yeah, has a bit of Harrison and some Lennon thrown in. My only complaint is your player on your site doesn't allow me to adjust the volume. I am listening on a laptop and headphones and had to pull them off my ears. It's a bit too loud.

But I agree this is a great song and very good production. I could almost think it was done in a professional studio with high end equipment the average consumer can't afford. So what's your secret?

Thanks very much. Sorry about the volume thing, I know how annoying it is when you have your volume set for one song or page, and then something else comes blasting in at a way higher volume. I "mastered" this to be around -12 average I think, so I didn't think that would be louder than most other stuff.

As far as secrets go, I got none. I just keep trying. In fact, the more I try, the more I kind of give up, and recently I've been aiming more for simpler song demos as opposed to trying these more elaborate productions.

Thanks very much though, that's really cool, makes me think the effort is (almost) worth it!
 
I like the song a lot. Well performed and well written. I hear a lot of glitches throughout the song. Some sounds like editing glitches and others sound like clipping. The most prominent is about 7 seconds into the song. It would be good if your player had a time readout so we can help you pinpoint stuff like that.

I really like the song. Yup, Beatles was the first influence I heard. :)

Thanks very much, glad you like the song. Bummer about the glitches. I listened to the player on headphones and didn't hear anything. :confused:
 
Great song. I listened to several others too, I like them all especially When She Walks Through the Door. Wow @ playing all those instruments. Are you shopping these songs? They're really really good!

Thanks very much! Very cool that you checked out other songs. I haven't done anything with them yet, this is it so far. Shopping them and all that part seems even more difficult than all this recording stuff.

Yeah, this does sound really good macle.

The big, deep percussion hits panned hard L&R about a 1/3 of the way in overloaded my little bose bookshelf speakers here.

Great clarity though. A thoughtful arrangement and the vocals are pretty darn pro sounding. Well done indeed.
 
Hey M -- Are you still using predominantly Trident pre-amps?

I like the concept of your site ... very cool style, simple, yet effective. I listened to a few of the tunes (this one strikes me as almost "Silverchair" ... it would fit right in on Neon Ballroom), and will enjoy checking the rest out eventually.

If I were to comment on this mix, I'd say the low end is quite "robust" and will rattle small speaker setups (my mains handled it no problem -- my small speakers didn't like the low end as much).

Thanks! Sorry about your speakers, hope they are okay. Those hits are a little toy Indian (Native American?) drum, and I EQd it up to try to get it to sound like a big war-like drum...guess I over did it It's hard to get lo-mid stuff to all work together and be heard.
