Me too. I'm just trying to make sense of what you said.

I said the tempo was right for the mood, but that the lyrics might work better (if the whole song) was at a higher tempo.

I am trying to be constructive RAMI, not score points. Tempo is hard.

I appreciate and respect that. I really do. I gotta tell you though, I'm never looking for songwriting or arrangement critiques. My songs are the way I make them. I write and arrange things the way I want them. By the time you guys hear them, they're done. I know what I want and how to get it. It's not open for debate or interpretation. :D

I do want mix feedback though. I look for input on the mix because everyone has different setups. Some good, some not good. I'm trying to make my shit sound decent everywhere. From million dollar hi-fis to crappy computer speakers, I want my mix to translate, and you guys can help with that. Mix comments are always welcome and I take them all in. You said "too much reverb" and normally I'd totally and completely agree, but this one is supposed to sound that way. :o

awesome as usual ..... sorry I'm late to the parade ..... bikeweek here so I'm playing and drinking!

ummmm ...... I actually didn't find it that much different than your usual music. It's actually very much as if Spector took a gerg song and Spectorized it ..... which is what you were going for right? But underneath all the zillion wall-of-sound tracks, the tunage is greg to the core.

I listened to the mono because I have a speaker out but when I get home from todays' gigs I'll pop on a pair of headphones and check out the stereo version.

But it kicks man ........ you, for all that you go for a down-to-basics rock and roll style, have very sophisticated ears and studio technique.

This sounds great, Greg. For me the standout on this track is the vocals. Your vocal performance is excellent, and the way you mixed the leads and backups just sits perfectly with everything else. If there's anything at all that I'd nit it would be the strings. I'm not sure how you could have done better with a software instrument, so I certainly can't offer any advice, and they do sound good, but I'd love to hear this with real strings. You can fit an orchestra in your front entryway, right? :D

Oh, and the castanets are great too...lol. Who knew they'd be such a pain in the ass to learn, I never would have thought...

Best,

Sounds good.

I wish my recordings were that clear with half as many tracks!

I kind of feel like the tempo was a little slow too. Obviously far too late to fix it now, but the tempo just kind of saps the energy.

I agree with Heat on the strings. They sound kind of cheesy and fake, but it may be more authentic that way.

OK, that's clearer. I don't know you or how much you know or don't know. So as ridiculous as it sounds, a total beginner might have meant that only the vocals should be faster without having any idea that it would be impossible to do that.

Thanks a lot Boob. Yeah I really did try to keep it sounding like a Greg song but with Spector treatment. Glad that came across. Thanks again. :)

Thanks Dave. I've never dealt with strings, or MIDI before, so I had no idea what I was doing. Still don't. It is what it is. :o

Thanks VHS. I wish I had a way to do real strings. Well, not really, but for this song, yeah. I'll probably never go the string route again. :D

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! That's all I have to say. This is awesome.

this sounded really good, very different from your other stuff, I really like the stuff you've been putting out lately-

........Nice work, Greg. I can't believe you played keys on a song.

Solid work all around, and I particularly like your lyrics. :)

Thanks, but don't get too comfy. My next song will be back to full power. :D

Thanks SC. I like keys. Well, I like piano. Organs and synths don't do much for me.

I really like this, I've always thought your stuff would benefit from being more melodic. The recording is nicer too, I think its a little brighter and airey than some of your other posts. Great job, really enjoyed the listen!

More melodic? Blasphemy!

Lol. Thanks dude.

lead vocals sound a lot like Dexter Holland from The Offspring.

I like this track a lot. Not too overdone, yet not to bare. Very well balanced. It feels like it should be on the radio.

Yikes. The Offspring guy? Lol. Oh well, thanks for checking it out. :D

Awesome...love the low end groove on this...so friggin solid....!

Great song, great mix - hints of Wheezer - definitely studio quality - you captured the sound
