I know this has been like 1 out of 5 posts for the last few days, but...

I'll need two ribbons for my 3's from last year. No rush, just don't want to miss the boat.

If you look at Chance's comment here, I'm sure you'll understand his situation. I believe that that would indicate he is going to be making an announcement once all the mics and pres have shipped concerning replacement shockmounts and ribbons from the last group buy.

Much like WhiteStrat, I'm just trying to help take some heat off of Chance whilest I watch my red nos...

Your assumptions are flawed,

What assumptions would those be? That you might be reasonable?

and showing up at the tail end of a brief civil exchange, to tell me to chill and leave Chance alone, while trying to procure a mic, was inept and aggravating.

Nope, I'd say it was fair and potentially productive.

Most likely the opposite of your intentions, so we'll leave it at that.
I have no objection to you looking for an acm200, but you'll have to find one another way.

And why's that? Because you want your 200? Or because you never ordered a 300 to begin with? (Which in either case begs the question: What is your point?)

If you have any other problems with my interloping, PM me. My box isn't full.

at the risk of stirring a pot that seems close to boiling over, here's the way i'm chosing to look at things. this is the perspective i'm chosing and in no way am i saying that my perspective is the right or wrong one, it's just working for me, and hopefully it may help someone else.

that said, i should also provide some context and let you know that i'm staring at 3 red no's for nearly 5 grand worth of gear, and am also unclear as to if/how/when i'm going get the 16 shockmounts ($168) and 10 ribbons i'm owed.

lets look, though, at what chance is doing here. yes, he's done the GB thing before, but there are a lot of firsts for him this time around. first off, the sheer quantity of gear has crossed a threshold that requires a totally different logistical approach, and chance is really learning as he goes. this isn't like ordering a piece of gear from sweetwater. we're basically providing chance with a dress rehearsal so to speak (i'm making the assumption that he plans on really developing the TnC brand on a larger scale). but look at what we're getting out of it. we get the prototype runs of the TnC catalog of gear, we get that gear for only what it costs to make it, and we have access to a gigantic pool of collective knowledge and experience to help us get the best out of our gear. Now we're even going to get access to upgrades made by widely renowned companies specifically for this gear, and we even get to take advantage of bulk pricing on that too! The trade off, of course, is that it's not going to be nearly as fast or as convenient as an everyday gear purchase. Chance has taken on a WHOLE lot in doing this and while he can anticipate some things, issues come up all the time that he needs to figure out. That said, we'd be doing Chance a disservice if we didn't make him aware of issues as they arise. But I'm trying to really keep my expectations low (ideally nonexistent, but i AM human and i DO want what i want when i want it...) so that I can be of service to Chance to the same degree that he's been of service to me. We get the headaches (dont forget, our headaches are his headaches too) so that future TnC customers don't have to, and I think we're being rewarded pretty handsomely for it.

We're like TnC beta testers, haha. Anyways, as for the shockmounts and ribbons, it's clear that chance is aware that these need to go out, and he has expressed that his first priority is to get all the current gear out. I didn't order any 300s but I do remember when he made it very clear what the situation was with that. This is one guy doing the job of many. As long as I try to focus on how I can make this as good an experience for Chance as he's making it for me, everything just seems like a whole lot less of a pain.

Again, this is just what works for my own peace of mind.
[/two cents]

WOW! I'm humbled. Thank you for your understanding. It is greatly appreciated.

DAMN!!!!!!! I have way more than 5 grand worth of gear in my studio, but your pile is going to dwarf my pile. You'd better give some TLC to all that TNC when you get it. :D

Well said, RightOnMusic -- a more general way of looking at it is that we're paying wholesale prices for retail distribution, and now I think we all know why there's such a big gap between the two prices in all other cases. Chance is making up the *great majority* of the difference with everything he's going through for this. All we have to supply is patience (hard as that is to do for me as well, sometimes) - I'd call that a bargain... the best... I've e-ever... [you know the rest :D]

... you'd think someone in our boat would have been able to pull off a better edit.
them what's got the gear, ain't got the NOs :D -- I think the green YES song is going for a grammy :)

Chance: shipping heads-up

According to my FedEx tracking number my two boxes were supposed to arrive today.

I called FedEx to double check and they said the tracking number had been generated on November 28th but they had not yet recevied the packages to ship.

Chance could you double check with the folks doing the packing and let them know? Sounds like it's all ready to go.

Chance,

I'm patiently waiting for the Green Yes. My work schedule is getting kind of weird so there's a very high probability that no one will be home when FedEx delivers my mics and preamps. However, a friend said it's ok to have my stuffed shipped to his store.

Will there be any problems/issues shipping to a store rather than home?

How do I notify the shipper of the address change?

Also looking forward to AMI transformers and Lucas electronics mods for my two ACM-1200 mics.

Aloha.

Got my ACMP84's the other day, perfectly packed, very nice looking. Used them on a session over the weekend on electric guitars, sounded very good. I'm excited to try them on vocals, perhaps snare drum. If I had any concerns it might be that they seem rather hot on the input. Even with the input gain all the way down, there wasn't much headroom on a guitar amp. Mic'd with a 57, the amp wasn't cranking, it was loud, though. No biggie, I can always wire up a couple of pads for the occasional loud source. I found the clipping when the preamp was overdriven to be something I don't care for. I've heard that sound on lots of records, though, I just don't like that sound!

Overall, I'm impressed with the preamps, and having operated a mail order business in the past, I'm amazed that Chance is doing this for so little profit. Work is work, I just hope you're getting enough good vibes and great gear to make it worth it! Thanks again!

nope. I've spoke with customs and they aren't holding anything for me. USPS have no record of the tracking number I was emailed and nothing under my name. I agree it has been some time.

Not vital to my business, I'm just unsure what's exactly happening. Not sure if it's shipped, and customs/usps have no record. I'm waiting patiently.

I just called USPS and they have no record of the tracking number that was emailed to me, or any package under my name. Not sure whats happening, but it was about 5 weeks ago I paid. Chance - has it been shipped from your end?

This is getting weird.

Chance, was the package sent via UPS or USPS?

WS,

Regardless of how busy "one" may be, when questions are asked (repeatedly) and no answers are ever forthcoming, people could be excused for wondering whether their questions are being deliberately ignored.

I'm trying real hard to be patient, its coming up to two months since I paid. I have no idea whether it has even shipped, where it is, or who I should be chasing.

Chance -

Can you please tell me if it has shipped? And if yes, what reference do you have. The tracking number I was emailed from USPS they have no record of.

In the same boat as Wreckd.

Being very patient, but the fed ex shipper shows no activity and the delivery date has long since passed.

Chance I know you are busy, and I surely appreciate your efforts, but could you take a few minutes to address these issues?

Thanks,

mm

I am checking on this now. How did you guys pay? CC or VC.

I just found a bug in the system. When everyone pays, it shows up as a green "paid" on my administration console and I immeadiately ship. I just researched my Sage virtual terminal (they handle the transactions) and there were only 3 or 4 payments (out of over 200 so far) made with virtual checks. These do not reflect as :"paid" on my administration console and shipping was halted waiting for payment. When payment is received via credit card, my administration console automaticaly turns to a "green yes" in the paid button, but doesn't with VC's. It will take some time to see the names of those who paid with VC's. If these 3 or 4 are any of you, I'm on it.

Now I am really confused. wreckd504. when did you pay and how? I just checked, and you haven't even been invoiced for shipping yet. Please explain.

I just checked your status on my administration console and your order has already been shipped. It doesn't reflect a date, but it HAS been shipped already. Fed Ex is SUPPOSED to be sending everyone notices from the E-dress you provided in the beginning. Check your spam

Thanks so much Chance!!

I really appreciate you double checking and confirming it did actually ship.

I paid with a CC.

I did get an email from Fedex, but it just says that the package info has been given to them. Nothing about whether it shipped or not, and no info as to where it is. i.e. picked up, arrived pohdunk, NE, departed pohdunk, NE... etc.

The tracking info did originally have a delivery date, but now that is past and has been removed.

So really it tells me nothing about where it is or when to expect it.

Thanks again so much for your efforts!

That could be because when I print the labels, I put the ship date one week ahead to give time for payment to arrive. If the pymt arrives quick, it will ship quick. If the pymt arrives late, you will receive a Fed Ex notice, but won't actually ship until pymt is received

I think I paid within an hour of getting the notice. Definitely within the same day. I was watching the red NO's pretty dang close!! ;-)

I will sit tight and keep an eye out for the package.
